I eat great during the day, good and healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks but soon as dinner time comes around I'm craving carbs like no other. Dinner is about 5:30 everyday for me and I'm like crazy for bread and noodles. I need some advice on what to eat 1 hour before dinner that keeps me from over eatting.

Are you not eating carbs with your earlier meals? Try to get a good mix at every meal of a complex carb(high fiber), protein and a healthy fat.

Well I eat oatmeal in the morning and a weight watchers smart one dinner of some kind and apple for snack around 2. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

If that is all you are eating all day then that is why you are so hungry at dinner time, but you probably have the calories left to eat bigger dinners.
  • How about a protein shake? Sounds like you need more protein.

I had this problem too... except it was in the afternoon... I would be ready to eat EVERYTHING by 11:30am. Someone suggested that I include a little peanut butter in my breakfast (on toast, on a banana). It totally worked.

Without looking at your food diary, it's hard to say exactly what the problem is but I suspect you're not getting enough protein (and probably not enough fat, either). If all you're eating is oatmeal, Smart Ones, and an apple your intake of protein is probably pretty low and this is why you're starving by dinner. I try to get a MINIMUM of 30g of protein just at breakfast and you're probably struggling to get that by dinner with what you're eating. I'd suggest pairing your apple with some almonds or a nut butter and then incorporate an additional high protein snack (cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, etc) before dinner. And ditch your Smart Ones for some whole foods, please.
