Ok, hear me out...
I've noticed that throughout this weight lose journey its been as equally important for me to work on my physical health as well as improving my mental health. Confidence has and will always play a big roll in the outcome of my weight loss. I feel that it's super helpful to have a strong since of self esteem, especially on those days when Im just not up to working out; or when I've messed my diet up and I feel the need to through a pity party. Worst of all were the days where I would looked in the mirror gawking at my reflection in horror and disgust. Maybe you're not as bad as I was, but there might still be " those kinda days" in your future ,and I whole heartily believe that having confidence and a strong since of inner beauty could really help you get through them intact.
Therefore, I decided to stop the madness once and for all and join the body beautiful project to start building my esteem. So, I came up with a little activity to make my new positive outlooks about loving, appreciating, and respecting my body stick. It really drove home the point , but in a fun and enjoyable way. Hope you like it !
Ok, so its simple, just try to do it on a day off, or a chill day where you can score some down time for yourself.
Strip down to your undies ( it might help you feel better about yourself if you kinda dolled yourself up or you can just break out your cute pair of undies but its optional).
Then put on your favorite song, or cd ,( but it has to be music that makes you feel like dancing, kinda with a sexy-ish vibe), and stand in front of a full length mirror. It has to kinda put you in a mood where all you want to do is just dance! For instance, the song that I had blasting on repeat was a song named "Adorn" by artist Miguel lol ...Be cute with your dancing, or sensual. Flirt with your reflection, just let go and have fun!
Now this is the IMPORTANT PART of it ...
DO NOT JUDGE OR CRITICIZE YOURSELF! It would just defeat the purpose of the activity. The goal should be to try and find a side of yourself that you may have been holding back because of insecurities. In fact, you should be complementing yourself, and if you don't think you have a reason to... FIND ONE, because I promise you , there are plenty of reasons. Remember, there's no one around to judge so just let loose. Oh, and another rule...for the rest of that day, anytime you see your reflection say something nice to yourself, or just try to smile at yourself. You'll be surprised at how much that could just brighten your day.
You can do this the entire day, just playing different tunes and grooving, or you could dance for a few mins. Take as long as you need to fall in love with yourself again. Hey, you might even get a good work out in without even knowing! So have fun with it, think optimistically, and remember no verbally harrasing yourself.
Hope this helps

I do this for a living, lol. But the confidence I feel (sometimes, anyway) tends to mostly come from how hot I look in a particular outfit, or how pretty I look in this or that style of makeup. Pretty sure if I did this at home without being done up first I'd end up crying in a corner. So if anyone does plan to do this I highly encourage makeup and a cute outfit, lol. Though if you can feel good without that, more power to you and I'm totally jealous.0

I dance totally naked without any make-up and just feel the joy and gratitude for the strong, healthy and beautiful body I have.
Am I perfect? No, I am not. I could nit pick and criticise, but I choose not to. It helps that I grew up in Northern Europe where sauna is a part of normal life and I have seen people in all shapes and sizes. When you grow up in a culture where all the naked (or scantily clothed people) are airbrushed, it is easy to focus on your imperfections; bum too big, bum too small, this is wrong and that is wrong.
Love, honour and cherish your body. It is the only one you've got :flowerforyou:0 -
