In What Order do you Eat?

While picking through my soup today the thought occurred to me that maybe other people don't eat like I do?

In what order do YOU eat your food?

For me I always eat the 'icky' stuff first. So I pick out all the vegetables I like the least, the vegetables I like the most and then I eat the meat. I never, ever eat it all together. Even if it's in a soup. Hah! Sometimes I wonder why I bother cooking it together since I'm just going to separate them before eating anyway.

So what is your order of eating?!

I don't seperate soup...sometimes I pick out the meat chunks in it first.

If I'm eating a cheesburger I usually cut it into peices...

I usually do eat veggies first if I have a plate of food, but if it's all a mixed dish I don't seperate it...Usually I choose to eat the best last

    To everyone their own =)

I can't say that I separate soup, and I actually mix veggies with mashed potatoes if I'm having them. Only peas and corn though, the rest I eat separately

I like to mix it up-but my hubby always eats his veggies first, then his starch then the meat and our youngest son eats the same way:laugh: but when I eat a burger or snadwich I always eat the edges first (yes even if it is a round object I keep turning it) I got that from my mother:heart:

I do that!! My husband always laughs at me for eating the outside first.

Both my wife and I take our hamburgers and sandwiches apart and eat in layers. Back when I used to eat fast food, I would always eat all my fries first, then my hamburger (sometimes in layers).

When talking about a plate of food, I usually finish one food before moving to the next.

After I'm done clicking the light switch on and off 3 times.
    I eat in clockwise order.

I always eat the edges or 'around' my sandwich first too - I have no idea where I get that from though since no one else in my family does it.

I eat my least favorite first & always save the meat for last. I also cannot stand it when my food touches so I either have to have separate bowls or plates for things or like a cafeteria tray to keep them divided.

My hubby COVERS all his food with hot sauce so he doesn't have to taste the veggies

Depends on what I am eating. If i have mac and cheese on my plate I always eat that first. I definitely eat one thing at a time though. For instance, I don't take a bite of one thing on my plate and then a bite of something else and come back to it. I actually usually eat the thing I like best first. That way if I die in the middle of eating I enjoyed it for a minute.

You know... I wonder if taking your sandwich apart and eating it layer by layer isn't the better choice? After all, eating slowly lets our head catch up with our stomach. :P

Some of you are hilarious. It never occurred to me to eat the edges of a burger first but I might have to try this next time. The inside is the best part anyway.

I admit to mixing stuff up. The weird part is I love to mix up leftovers. Today I mixed corn, rice, grilled bell peppers and left over chicken for lunch.

I originally ate it all separate and in fact sorta lingered over my bell peppers. I didn't want to run out as it was sooo good. I guess for me it's going back and forth between the protein (chicken or whatever) and my veggies. I hate running out of one part of my dish. I guess it feels like I'm trapped eating that part if I finish early on the others. It doesn't bother me if it's my favorite part - only if that one vanishes and I'm stuck with the rest.

As for soups - I eat it all together. In fact, I have a horrible habit of throwing lemon into just about every type of soup imaginable. I love lemon and it's a big addiction for me.

My only hate - I despise normal salads. I get bored with them. They have to be pretty elaborate for me to enjoy them. I feel like a rabbit if they are just leaves and dressing and a tomato or two. Blah!

I eat my veggies first then my protein. That way if I have some type of carb, I will be fairly full to eat it all or get more of it.

I eat one thing at a time. I usually start with the main portion (burger and fries - eat burger first), but if I have multiple sides (chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn - start with veggies, then meat, then starches). I like to end my meals with a starch.

I ALWAYS eat my veggies first, the main reason is so I get full on the good stuff. Then I eat my Protein, so it would be fish or a Meat Substitute and then I eat the carbs. If I eat soup, then I just eat it as it comes via the spoon, whatever is on it, goes in.

"I'm a military man I like a military meal. I like my string beans quarantined. I like a little fortress around my mashed potatoes, so my meat loaf don't invade my mashed potatoes and cause mixin' in my plate. I hate it when my food touches. And don't let your food touch either."

I use to eat the best last, which was ususally the meat, but now after surgery I can't eat very much at a time, so they told me to eat my protein first. Somtimes that is all I get to eat.

With soup, I like it mixed up. Same goes for a salad.

But for everything else, I will eat my least favorite the fastest, and my favorite the slowest. My goal it to make sure my last bite contains the flavor I want to linger in my mouth after I'm done eating.

Also, my salad MUST be in a bowl ... not on my plate where it can touch the other food. :)

This is off on a bit of a tangent, but if I am really enjoying my meal I will always save the biggest bite for last. I've been doing it since I was little. So I eat small mouthfuls throughout and if I am really into it, at the end I end up with a huge fork full and then an over-stuffed mouth! Somehow I feel like if I do that I will savour the flavour hahahahaha

I like to mix things together, but generally from a fairly homogeneous bowl, I would eat my favourite things first.
I am doing this in a semi-concious way. I like the thought that I am eating the best of the bowl at every single bite :)

How much time you got? Ok, I'll keep it short: Main principle: least favorite to most favorite!

When I used to eat fast food, I'd usually do it in the car, so the fries first, cuz they get cold fast. Then, I'd turn the burger so the cheesiest part was last (least to most)

I have ALWAYS eaten the crust off my sandwich first (least to most)

I used to eat one thing at a time when I was a kid, but now, I like to mix it up - eat a little of this, a little of that... but I always eat more of my least favorite and less of my most until only my most favorite is left (least to most, see?)

No particular order. I just eat a bite of this...a bite of that. I don't mix everything together either. Now I feel like I'm the strange one since everyone else seems to eat one thing at a time? Ha.

    You all are weird.

Pile and stir, it's all going to the same place.
