I'm not getting married but my roommate from college is in October and I'm a bridesmaid! I have to try on dresses in April I think...and from today I need to drop about 25-30 before the wedding. If you need a partner, I'm here for ya! And congrats!0

Already married. But just as a heads up to all you brides getting in shape. You have to get your dress fitted like a month or two before the wedding. I had mine fitted and it was fine. I lost weight from the time it was fitted and the wedding. So, the dress was a little big on me. Not enough for others to notice, but I knew.
So please work hard, just know that you may have a loose fitting dress on the big day. Unless your dress has the ties and you can cinch it up!
Congrats to all of those getting married and wanting to start your new life healthy! :flowerforyou:0 -

I hope so...I already enlisted as one hehe. Definitely going to try to find a dress with a corset back so that I don't have to get refitted after dropping some of this poundage :-)0 -
Just remember, brides-to-be, don't get too stressed! That can also make you keep or gain weight! Just focus on what the marriage means, not just the wedding!0
-
I'm getting married August 28th this year. I have ordered my dress, ordered a little smaller but no matter what will have to get it altered because my chest is always big no matter what I weigh... so that's what decided the size of my dress. I hope to lose about 70 lbs. eventually but am trying to lose at least another 30-40 before the wedding date.0

Well congrats!! It's coming up really fast and I've just recently started back up with my workouts. Best of luck to you!!0 -
I am getting married March 20 of this year. It comes up fast. I have a lace up back so some weight change isn't going to affect me. Right now I am more worried about gaining stress weight.
My biggest goal is to maintain, I would love to lose some but I need to be realistic stress=weight.
I have decided to cut back on how much sugar I eat until the week before the wedding. The week before the wedding I am hoping to be no sugar, my body holds water when I eat sugar, until the wedding cake.
good luck to everyone
We are also getting married at our 5 year dating mark.0 -
Hi All
I get married in 8 weeks, on 24 April.
I did the crazy thing that everyone tells you not to do - I saw the dress of my dreams and bought it, about 15 months ago. At the time I weighed 231lb and was a UK size 22. The dress was somewhere between a UK size 12 and 14.
Anyway, as of this morning I weigh 173lb and the dress fits beautifully! My dressmaker says it won't matter if I lose another 5 -7lb so I'm still sticking with my diet and exercise plan until the wedding. If nothing else, then the sessions in the gym are brilliant at reducing stress, and I think I can tone up a lot in 8 weeks.
I've been using a pay-site for calorie tracking and support, but I found this site earlier this week and I really like it, so here I am. My eventual goal is to get to 161lb, but I think that will be some time after the wedding.
Go for it girls - you have a brilliant opportunity to look and feel how you want on the day you start your new life. I'm so glad I've got this far, and I'm looking forward to the support for the final sprint to The Day!!!

Congrats on losing THAT much and on your engagement!! That is phenomenal!0
-
Oh my goodness. I'm getting married on the 28th as well. I have been engaged for almost 8 months and you are the first person I have met with the same date! Awesome!! I'm totally in girls!
Starting weight- 151.8
Goal weight- 130
Current weight- 148.6
Current fitness routine- Slim in six.....week two!0 -
LOL...I definitely meant to reply to a post....oh well....I'm still learning this thing. What is everyone doing fitness wise??? I'm gonna complete my Slim in six challenge (I'm on week 2 of six) and then I'm thinking about doing the 30 day shred. I lost three pounds last week and I'm not really that big (150). I was shocked that 3 pounds came off in one week! My Fiance told me he is planning to do P90X three months before the wedding.....I might join him.
What are you ladies doing for fitness???0 -
I am getting married in July of 2011, but I'll join !0
-
Ok girls, I need all your help and motivation.
I'm getting married on May 27th this year. I need to loose around 25-30lbs for the dress to fit. It just arrived in the shop this week but my fittings wont begin for another 10 weeks or more.
I have been sick with a bug all week so I've been knocked out of my routine so that is what i will concentrate on for the next week and cleaning up my food.
I have access to gyms and good exercise dvd's so there isn't any excuse for me
My starting weight was 185lbs and today I weigh in at 170.6lbs. How realistic is it to drop 30lbs by May1st??
(By the way that is not my dress in the pic, I was going to go for this but seen a nicer one!)0 -
Deedun - Well I've heard that the MAX amount of weight is 2-3 lbs per week, to do it the healthy way. If you can stick to that, you might be close to losing 25 lbs by May 1st!! You can do it  Do you have a workout buddy? I feel like that helps keep me in check when I want to skip the gym
2723obriens - how do you like slim in 6? I was considering it. To answer your question about what we're doing as far as exercise, I go to the gym about 3 times a week for an hour or so (trying to up it to 4). I have tried 30 day shred in the past and didn't stick with it. I think I'll give it a shot again My biggest issue is sticking to my calorie limit everyday!!0 -

Hi!
I have a personal trainer that comes to the house each week and really gives me a good workout then gives me "Homework" to do during the week. I've only started this in the past two weeks and i was sick for most of this week so not really seeing great results as yet.
I'm going to start back on the 30DS - I really noticed a huge difference in my tone when I was doing that but not so much in the scales - but I suppose every little helps :laugh:0 -
Remember muscle weighs more than fat. It's inches that should matter.0
-
I also have been sick for a couple of days so I haven't been able to workout. I finaly feel good enough to eat again so I gave myself a "free" day and now it is time to get back on the calorie wagon. I am down in weight from being sick so I guess that is a plus, not a good way to lose though. I am going to do some Insanity in the morning maybe only 15 mins or so, I don't want to push to hard to fast.0
-
Eating my way through paying vendor bills....ahhhhhh STRESSED.
I need to forgive myself for today and move on to tomorrow.
Full Insanity work out in the morning, walk the dog, and maybe treadmill, (I watch the biggest loser when on the treadmill it keeps me going.)
Hope everyone is doing well.
Anyone want to join me in a mini-challenge?
Drink 64 oz of water everyday, and 20 crunches everyday for a week. Starting WED Morning0
