Advocare???

A friend of mine is selling this and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it? I want to do this the natural way because I dont' want weight coming back, but was assured this is just supplementation to jump-start weight loss? Any thoughts?? I have no opinion either way at the moment.

You said you want to do this the natural way. There's your answer. Eat at a deficit and exercise. BAM. Free weight loss.

This^^ you can save your money and do it by eating healthy and exercising. There is no magic pill/potion.

spend your money on a gym membership and nutritionist :) That would be the healthy way :) My friend sells it but I chose to spend my $300.00 a month with a personal trainer. Good luck :)

I don't know what that is but my best advice to you is to avoid the gimmicks and promises of rapid weight loss that many manufacturers of weight-loss supplements make. Getting fit is a very simple process that takes a lot of time and for many of us, varying degrees of suffering. There is no supplement that I am aware of that will make this process easier. Changing the way I looked at food was painful and sometimes it still is but it gets easier every day. Log every day. Be honest with yourself and with your diary. If you fall, get back up, it's not the end of the world. Speedbumps will happen, they aren't a big deal as long as you just keep on going. There is no magic pill that I know of. Good luck with your journey. MFP is an awesome tool and can change your life. Stick with it.

I'm going to echo the other 4 people who have already posted to tell you to save your money. Use MFP, start by just staying (slightly) under your calorie goal. Make small changes here and there. Enjoy some treats. Don't deprive yourself. Read and learn about nutrition. Start an exercise program that you love. Have the expectation to lose weight slowly. Then, be so proud when you achieve your goals without crutches. Because you can do this on your own. You don't need pills/supplements/crazy diets/etc.

hold on here people! I have been using Spark by Advocare for almost 15 years. It is a very nice product and it works. This is loaded with vitamins. I lost 20 lbs in Sept using their 24 Day Challenge. Can you achieve these results with just diet and exercise? Absolutely. But it was way easier with no additional cravings and both my husband and I were able to stick to it with no temptations. Since then I have lost another 16 lbs with the same diet and exercise. So, since Sept 1st, I have lost 36 lbs and my husband has lost 40. Advocare is just high quality vitamin supplements that do what they say they do. I still use Spark and their Omega 3 vitamins daily. My skin is glowing, my nails and hair are ever so healthy and I have quit all processed foods and dairy.

Whether you buy vitamins from the pharmacy or online, they are not a gimmick. You can do this no matter what you do. But Advocare sure as heck helps to keep me on the right path. My husband as well. We actually bought 2 24 Day Challenges for my father and step mother in law for Christmas.

**oh and the crazy diet was 3 meals in proper portions with 2-3 snacks per day. I was under 1500 calories a day. It has you accept a challenge to eat the right foods and let your body adjust to better nutrition. And as for treats, those are in there too.

^ what they said. Don't waste your money. I hate when friends are selling stuff and want me to buy it. Bit rude I think.

Advocare is hardly a gimmicky weight loss product. They are a proven company that focuses on wellness and lifestyle. They have a scientific and medical advisory board that specializes in creating products that support both. Do they offer products that assist with weight loss? They sure do. But they are SO much more. Their products contain the highest quality standards in the industry. They use Science to back all the development of their products. They have renowned medical personnel as part of the board to advise on the ingredients and how they should be used. Nutritional supplements help people achieve balance in your body using vitamins, minerals and proteins. All of which Advocare’s products support.
They have a sports line that supports athletes with recovery time and sustained energy. They are certified through Informed Choice.
“Informed-Choice is a quality assurance program certifying that products and their ingredients have been tested for inadvertent contamination with substances prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Informed-Choice program encompasses a detailed evaluation of the entire product manufacturing process from raw material supply, to endpoint packaging and storage. Product testing through Informed-Choice is conducted at HFL Sports Science, an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory with extensive WADA experience. HFL is the world's largest sports regulatory and research lab and the world's most experienced provider of commercial supplement testing services.”
All kinds of professional athletes use and support Advocare and all its products FOR FREE! They endorse something at no benefit to them other than sharing the amazing results.
Now I don’t mind if someone chooses not to buy Advocare products and feel better while taking them but PLEASE done refer to them as “gimmicky” or a “rip off”.
FYI – I have two bad knees from serving in the military and suffer from endocrine issues that have been treated with medication for years. I have been taking Advocare products for 4 months now and I feel better than I have in 10 years. They just work.
