I have to feel like it is possible to get pregnant somehow...And soon hopefully. I have never wanted anythng more than this. I weigh 250 pounds and I have insulin resistance I just started dieting. Has anyone else dieted to have a child? Has anyone succeeded? Does anyone have any kind of input to put in on this? I want this so badly...

I am pretty sure that getting pregnant doesn't come from dieting. It comes from a very specific form of exercise.0

One of the main reasons I started taking control of my health was so I'd be healthy for pregnancy and motherhood.
My advice to you is to be patient. Don't crash diet. Re-teach yourself how to eat and live actively. It will take you a lot longer, but in the end, your whole life will be better for it, and you'll be there for your little one for a lot longer.
Being able to be healthy during pregnancy and keep control over your eating habits then is critical to not over-gaining during that time as well. Those tools you learn along the way to getting fitter and healthier are tools you can use forever if you do it right.0 -
I'm not dieting with pregnancy as a goal -- I'm dieting with health as a goal, but I know that it will be better for any future pregnancy if I am lighter. Good luck on reaching your goals!0

Hi there!
PregosaurusRe couldnt be more right!
I too am trying to concieve at the moment, but i wouldn't say i'm dieting to fall pregnant, more trying to become fitter, healtheir and stronger so that i am in optimal shape to cope with preganancy and the child that results! As many of my girlfriends would say, motherhood is not for the faint hearted! Like you i want a baby like nothing else at the moment! I am 89kg at the moment and suffer from hemiplegic migraine and i know from previous experience that being fitter and healthier makes such a difference to my medical condition. Would be happy to support you on this journey.
And as Gallowmere198 said, preganancy also requires a special form of exercise! My pt calls it "Cardio" and highly recommends it to help support weighloss :P0 -
I'm proud of you for trying! I wish I could offer some helpful advice. Getting pregnant is "easy", it's keeping yourself and your baby-to-be healthy that's important. Good luck!:happy:0

I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now...no luck! I know a woman who is 350 at least and dieting to have a baby. She has lost 75 pounds in 3 months. I think I might actually have to go to the gyno. I have a huge fear of them! I have heard if you loose weight, your body will regulate your period . Then you will be more than likely to conceive easier.0

I was told once that every 5-10# you lose your chances of pregnancy goes up.
I was losing weight before each kiddo (not to get pregnant though)
(got pregnant at the same weight... delivered at the same weight.)
I was freaked out the THIRD time that I got to that weight, wasn't ready for another baby.
Since I've lost weight, I have had regular periods.
Still heavy and horrible but regular.0 -
I dont know but I have 3 kids and I fell pregnant each time after I lost 30 lbs. Keep in mind the last time I was also on birth control!! I think that when your body is in optimal shape you can become pregnant easier.0
