I don't fit in wellies :(

I was all geared up for a big walk with my boyfriend and his dogs, when I put my feet in the wellies left for me by the door. A perfect fit.. until I tried to pull them up. My calves were so fat that it was actually painful to walk around in them. Just another fat slap in the face that I need to lose weight. He's gone on the walk and I'm at home with my fat calves feeling sorry for myself.
Hmm.. I'm really low. Does anyone have a motivational story about being fairly big (18+ stone) and reigning it it? It just seems impossible right now.

I'm not sure what a stone is or how big or small 18 of them may be.
That bit of American idiocy out and cleared up out of the way....
I do know something about big calves and the struggle to find boots that fit and don't hurt, mostly just the struggle to find ones that fit.
My calves even at a small weight are big. In high school my calves were 19.5 inches when I weighed 139. Today at 184 my calves are still large and they are currently 22.5 and 23.0 inches respectively.
Those large calves give me defined ankles, carry me from place to place and are sturdy. Much like your calves I'm sure. I don't think I'd want skinny calves at this point in my life, more tone oh yes, but not smaller. They are starting to look nicer in heels.
Some peple just have more in the way of leg than others, just like some have more in the way of a but, tummy, or boobage.
I finally found a killer pair of boots that fit my calves. Check out this site: www.torrid.com. yes, it is a store for big girls, but their boots will fit you. If you can get past the feeling that the boots were from a plus size store, they will make your calves rock and your walk more pleasant. No one but you will know they came from there and the confidence boost is awesome.
I finally found a pair for me. Only took 37 years to get to enjoy calf boots, but so worth it.
Now as for reigning in the weight:
YOU CAN DO THIS!
My highest weight ever was 240 and that was in 2003 after my second child was bon. I am 5'7".
I lost through diet and exercize down to 135. 105 pounds total.
I kept off the majority of it for a while.
I started back getting it off again the right way in January of this year at 209.
As of today I weigh 184, and I have lost 25 pounds. I have 39 more to go.
You can add me and I will motivate you and you can do the same for me. It's a long journey, but worth it. Good luck with your boot quest!0 -
I have one large calf and one small calf muscle because I have a club foot. Wellies are so difficult to get right!
What I've done is made a slit down the back of them until my large calf fits comfortably then punched a couple of holes at the top and used a ribbon to tie them together. It makes them wearable (so long as I avoid deep puddles) and they look pretty too!
It's a win/win )0
