hello! i need some advice. I have been losing weight, about one pound per week for quite some time now. However, in the past 10 days, i have binged 3 times. not good at all! they have been pretty bad binges too. i weighed myself on october 11, binged on the 12, 14, and 16. i'm really not sure how many calories, but here is the binge i had on the 16, from what i can remember. I ate 1200 calories for the day, but then ended up just binging because i ate all my calories for the day too early. on top of the 1200 calories, from what i can remember, i ate 2 large cookies, a small pizza (it was served in a box and is a single serving i think, but still high in calories), a burger, french fries, and a bag of cheetos with about 310 calories. i think i also had some chocolate nuggets, and handfuls of goldfish as well. none of that is good or healthy, and i am ashamed of all of that!! I have been eating really well these past couple of days and ate really well on the days i did not binge. I was wondering if you think i have gained a lot of weight from those binges?? what do you think?? will i have gained a significant amount if i were to weigh myself tomororw? i'm so scared of the scale right now..

Ignore the scale for a while if you are afraid of it. You might gain some weight from water retention because of the sodium you consumed in that junk, but there is no way you could gain a pound even for the amount you say you ate. You'd need to eat thousands of calories over your IDEE to gain 1lb. Just pick up tomorrow eating right and being active, it is a small setback, don't freak out.

Relax Em. You have not destroyed all your work. You may show a gain on the scale but a lot of that will be water weight. An increase in carbs and salt will make your body hold onto water. It will let loose after a few days of healthy eating.

Maybe you have been depriving yourself for a bit too long and that led to the binges. It's okay to go over alloted calories now and then especially if you fall short some days. And it's imoortant to learn how to work those favorite foods into your menus.

Now, all that being said let me tell you that you are amazing to come on the forum and talk about your binges. Truely amazing.
I am 69 years old and still fighting to lose body fat...a lot of it. I've lost 30 to 50 pounds several times and you know what....the same thing happened to me as you just described. But instead of bucking up and beginning anew, I gave up entirely and undid all the hard work. So from this I've learned that a mistake or a slip or a need to eat something dowrnright 'bad', or even a big binge, is forgiveable and a blip in the larger picture of my life. I don't even try to make up for the extra calories. Some people would double their workouts or such or deprive themselves the next day. NOooooooo. Just pick yourself up and start again. That is my answer.

Do not worry as much about the scale but what is triggering these binges. Check that you are eating enough of all the food groups are you getting lots of colours in your diet (beets, sweet potatoes, raspberries) enough proteins. I would be more worried about why I am doing this and how to stop it. then the scale

we all have those days where we binge be honest in your diary and look forward to doing better. Don't worry about the scale just like others have said. I have having that issue this week as well this is my 3rd week and tomorrow i doubt will be a good day but both of us have to stay positive. I think i gained two pounds but i have also been stressed out. Good luck
