Veggie Protien & Iron

Hi ya
Any veggies also having trouble (or solutions) to ensure they get enough Protien and Iron?
The reports were illuminating and I often don't meet my protien levels, so am working harder to get those in. But its IMPOSSIBLE to get enough iron in, so I have bought iron tablets. Makes sense why I my muscles don't repair as fast, are often tight etc, due to not enough Iron which links to blood cells carrying oxygen round.. or not..
Anyway, just interested in anyone else had noticed this for themsleves?
(And to be super awkward, I dont eat fish either..)

Yep that's me all over. I have ordered pea protein shakes to up my protein and I am going to see my doctor about the iron. I never take a suppliment without checking with her first0

I'm glad you asked this. I'm a vegetarian who doesn't eat any animal products other than eggs and dairy, and I don't really like dairy. My iron intake is consistently low so I hope someone has some advice for working more iron into your diet, though I'm not opposed to taking a supplement.
Protein is no problem for me. I usually have a fake sausage patty (Morningstar) and egg half sandwich for breakfast. I try not to eat too many processed foods but I think it's worth it -- that one meal fulfills about half of my daily protein requirement. There are lots of great recipes out there for veggie patties that likely contain just as much protein, if you don't want to go the store-bought route.
Other than that I drink three 8oz glasses of light soy milk a day, at 6 grams of protein per serving, and add beans, eggs and/or tofu to various dishes. My main concern since I started tracking my diet here is calcium intake, as I have bad teeth and joint problems. Drinking several glasses of soy milk a day has taken care of that, as well as insuring that I get enough protein.
You might consider nutritional yeast. It works well as a seasoning, and each serving contains 8 grams of protein and plenty of B12:

Hi
Thanks for the replies
I tend to have cereal for breakfast, its my way of getting some milk into too. So being more concious about eating eggs/cheese/veg sausuages/chick peas daily but its not easy. Will look at soy milk if its got more protien in than non soy milk.
Will look at the yeast thing, never heard of it before!
Have been on an off anemic most of my life so fine about adding the odd supplement. Have complete B too as its also impossible to get that in as a veggie too.
Gonna have to cook up some nice tasting chickpea storms!0
