I recently joined MFP and I don't have many people to support me. So I was wondering if any of ya'll can help me out. Advice and tips would be great as well. Please share your success stories, that would be awesome!

Hi there, glad you're here. If you haven't already done so, start logging in everything you eat. Everything. It surprised the heck out of me when I began seeing the numbers attached to some of the food choices I was making. Don't worry so much in the beginning about staying perfectly within your calories, you'll need to tweak and adjust as you learn more. Eliminate high calorie food you can live without, decrease high calorie food you absolutely love, replace high calorie snacks with a lower calorie alternative. Drink water - lots of it. Avoid fast food. You can totally do this

I agree completely with what Lisa760 posted, logging is very important. It was an eye opening awakening when I realize the 32 oz of mountain dew I was drinking my 1st day on MFP was 330 calories. Well a course I finished it, but I never got another one. You start slow and adjust, high calories out and low calories in. Then I started adding exercise to my daily routine, walking everyday for lunch. 20 minutes round trip to the corner and back. Today I just came back from a 7 mile run this morning, competed in a couple 5k races, did an duathlon and have lose at least 30 lbs.
You can do this and if you need supportive buddies on MFP, feel free to add me as a MFP buddy. I will support and motivate!
