Gained 3 lbs, but same measurements?!

Hello,
This is my first post, although I have been reading the forums for a while.
I have been working on my fitness goals for almost 8 weeks.
At the beginning of last week, I had lost about 14 lbs. We had a friend come to stay with us the last few days and I ate and drank more than I should (closer to 1600-1800 calories a day for 3 days). This morning I weighed with a 3 lb gain (from last week) but all my measurements are exactly the same as last week's. I'm not sure what this means. I find it sort of confusing and naturally, I'm disappointed in myself.
Anyone have any helpful thoughts?

Probably just water retention--chug a little extra and it should fall off . I tend to retain in my hands and feet so even when I'm bloated my belly won't always increase.0

You did not gain 3 pounds of fat in 3 days. I'm also guessing that 1600-1800 calories is still a deficit compared to what your body needs to maintain its current weight. The "bad" eating you did over the weekend probably resulted in a significant increase in sodium and you are carrying water weight.0

Ok, now that you guys mention it, my hands and feet are extra swollen... That makes some sense.
I was just looking at the numbers on the scale and my measurements, and thinking, "This does Not Make Sense!" hahaha
So lots of extra water drinking should flush out that sodium that causes bloating, right?0 -

Right. Unless you are currently premenstrual. Then it will take about a week. &:)0 -
You might be getting too much sodium. Try to cut back on salty food, and drink more water. If you don't like water, drink tea! (but don't add sugar/cream...)0

Yeah looking back at my diary, I can see the extra sodium, and all the beer we drank over the weekend certainly didn't help!

Which measurements you are taking? Does it include neck and bicep/calf/other place that can show muscular increase? You likely hit the jack-pot of pumping your muscle some if you are training. If your waist did not go up, you are not really bloated so likely no issues with salt. If you are working out, water could be retained in your muscles for up to 72 hrs after an intense training session. That will give you a pumped look (your muscle look bigger, body builders work for it).
Or, there is a large bathroom event in making.0
