i have had a pinched nerve since Valentines day that is affecting my right side. neck, arm and at times lower back.
i have been going to a Chiropractor and i do think it has been helping. however it does flare up, i am right handed so i can not go thru the day not using my right arm. i worked out like normal the first week but did not this past week because it seemed worse. I don't want it to be two weeks or more with out working out, anyone have any ideas for workouts, and how to stop this pinched nerve. i have decided i really don't like it.

Have you thought about seeing an actual physician? Not sure he/she could offer you anything, but at least you would be sure that you aren't causing any real damage to your arm. Just a thought!
  • You may want to go to a nurlogist. I have a similar problem with my left hand and neck. My pinky and ring finer are numb . Worried that it could be heart related I went to my family doctor. He in turn sent me to a nurlogist. As it turns out it's my elbow not my neck or my wrist. So you could have what I have a pinched / damaged nerve in your elbow. He has me in a removeable elbow brace for now. Hoping I won't need surgery. Good luck.
  • I agree that u; need to see a regular physician, I have gone to chiropractors over the years for back problems, which have helped, but i also had one to adjust my neck and my right hand went numb and took several months to recover from nerve damage. my last problem was my shoulder, felt like torn rotator cuff, but thought i would try a chiropractor. He did no xray, ran some kind of nerve conduction test, said i needed to come every day to let him do some procedure . I went to an orthopedic and had a bone spur indenting on a rotator cuff, which was removed and is now fine. Chiropractor wouldn't have helped. I also had a friend who went to a chiropractor for several months for back problems, turned out he had cancer and he died shortly after. So make sure what your physical problem is for sure.

I hate that the first health professional everyone thinks to go to when they are having issues is a chiropractor. It's so frustrating. Go to your DR first. They are by FAR the best person to help you out with whatever is wrong with you. If they need to send you to a specialist they can. If you need physical therapy they can give you a prescription for that as well.

Chiropractors treat the symptoms....not the problem. That's why you have to keep going back constantly.

i think there is a need for both. my chiropractor has helped in a number of cases on things that my dr. had no idea on and could not do anything about. Sometimes you need to try more than one thing. if something is not working try something else.

ok i worked out today no weights just body weight and bands for 45 minutes felt good and had no problems. i followed that up with a 30 minute walk jog. that also went pretty well. So hopefully i feel good in the morning when i wake up for work.
