your actual carbs look ok, if they're logged correctly. The macro targets perhaps need addressing via custom goals.

I think you can safely eat back at least half your exercise calories and still be at a calorie deficit to lose weight.

However .. Sugar (be it in sodas or foods, etc.) take up calories that end up leaving you hungry. I was a smoker until Aug.. and it seemed I lived on cigarettes and sugar .. and was a rail .. could eat as much as I wanted .. what I wanted.

I quit smoking and gained 15 lbs .. boo hiss .. bummer .. so here I am! LOL not horribly in need of weight loss .. but definitely needing to find that new and healthy balance as a smoke free human.

I don't think your excessive sugar and carbs are overly detrimental to your weight loss progress since you are burning a lot of calories exercising and still eating a good bit. You're staying at a deficit in calories .. but if you are still feeling hungry .. I suggest increasing that protein and finding a way to reduce your sugar intake .. Carbs may need reducing as well .. but I would start with the reduction in sugar. Protein will keep you feeling fuller longer .. try nuts/seeds, etc. or whatever .. increase your fish intake or lean meats :flowerforyou:

You've been doing great progress .. I don't think you have too much to worry about .. until you get to where you want to maintain your weight.. then maybe carbs and sugar might be your enemy? I'm not a man .. so I suspect how we metabolize would differ

i think this is a sensible way to look at it. i'm not much of a fan of the idea that certain calories are inherently "bad" (e.g. refined flour or refined sugar foods) and others are "good". a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. i think the better way to think about it is that you can spend your calories on things that leave you full and fueled and feeling good, or on things that don't. there's nothing wrong with having a candy bar every once in a while as part of a good diet that doesn't exceed your calorie goals and provides the necessary nutrients. it's not "bad". in fact, i might argue it's a good thing to do every once in a while just to remind yourself that you're not depriving yourself of things you crave. it's just that if you have candy bars all the time, you're not really giving your body what it needs and if you eat too many candy bars and stop caring what your daily calories are, that leads to getting fat.

So if a person decided to eat 10 Crunchies a day staying under there calories , this is a No No

I'm still laughing at the overly-precise amount of bakewell tart! That's some scale to be able to measure such an amount

Macros are your percentages of carbohydrates, protein, and fat (and sugar, fibre etc, but those are the main 3 as calories have to come from one of those)

The MFP default settings are ( to many ) low on protein and generous on carbs.

LOL ... well.. you can get away with it probably . and possibly even lose weight, however .. without vitamins, minerals, calcium, basic nutrients that your body needs to repair itself or stay healthy enough to fight off the common cold or flu . ..

not to mention what you're doing to your poor digestive system ..

do the 10 Crunchies give you the necessary protein, fiber, carbs, etc. and all of the other nutrients you need? if so, sure why not?

however, i have a hunch that something called a Crunchie probably doesn't give you all of those things. am I right?
