Running help

Hi all,

I completed Couch-to-5k back in August and then stupidly fell off the wagon. I haven't run since then. Should I start the whole program over (sigh) or start a specific week or just get out there and run? Thanks for any input!

Just go out and see what you can do. Tell yourself to run to that tree, walk to that fence, then run to that house, ect. You will get back at it faster than you think!

I guess I would start out from the beginning and see where you are. You might find that you don't need to do the entire 9 week program and can skip ahead a bit. But start out slowly and I get the feeling your body will remember what it's supposed to do.

Were you running at all before doing the program?

If your running career has consisted only of the 9 week C25K and you haven't run for almost the same amount of time you're going to find that you've lost a lot of your fitness gains. I tend to be a very conservative runner (I'm not a fan of running injuries) and would probably suggest you start at the beginning and see how you feel.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll start at the beginning and hopefully will progress faster. Ugh, feel so stupid for letting it drop.

I'd do Wk1 D1 and if it goes well move to the next week's run the next time until it gets to where it's a struggle again. Even if you get out there and W1D1 is to easy just add some time to it. Or just go out and run until you can't then walk until you recover and run again.
