    To last you a week, what items would you buy? Not including spices, or cooking oil/spray or anything like that.

    Brown and wild rice mix
    Chili beans
    Barley

    Low-fat (7%) hamburger
    Chicken breasts

    veggies...pick 2 OR, (could be a bag of frozen mix) I would buy fresh and a head of broccoli, a bag of carrots, an onion and some potatoes - but individually is more than one item!

    Bananas

    Yogurt (currently addicted to Tillamook fat-free)

    And of course, my splurge... Liquid Coffee-mate creamer in Vanilla Nut

    With the above items, I have breakfast everyday (my coffee and yogurt), and you can make a pot of chili/beef, a chicken/rice/veggie casserole, and beef/barley/veggie stew. More than enough food for a family of four...I do it all the time! :) We have cut back on our fruit due to sugar, so a banana goes with your lunch..
