My concern is that I have over 100 lbs to lose and i've had this weight on me for over 8 years, i'm scared that after I lose this weight, I will have loose skin. Is this an issue that I should really be worried about? Is there a way I can prevent this? Please, I need some answers.

the key is in how you work out/diet. if you just eat differently but dont use any muscle building or muscle toning exercises you will be loose as a goose my friend. you must incorporate some SERIOUS muscle training along with the cardio and you will be just fine. ive lost nearly a 100 pounds and you can bounce a coin off my butt and legs. dont give up, just make the necessary changes slowly but surely you will see your body change. Best of luck!!0

So far I've lost 77 pounds and loose skin is not an issue. I do workout 4-5 days a week, interval training on a treadmill.0

Look to others in your family and see how they have aged. That can be a key factor. Also I have been around many people that have lost 100+ lbs and everyone is different. Part of it is age but also where you gained and lost the majority of the weight. If you gained more in certain areas you are more likely to have lose skin in those areas. If you carries it all over you will likely lose it evenly. the fact is the weight will come off slowly. There will be plenty of time to decide how far down you want to go. It's not something you should give up your health for.0

I have a friend who became a SERIOUS gym rat while losing well over 100 pounds. I think she lost about 125 or 150-ish.
But all the exercise in the world didn't prevent her from ending up with baggy, saggy skin, especially in her lower abdomen and upper thigh areas. The scar from her c-section is pretty much hidden by the losse skin.
I think a lot of it is due to her age (she was over 45 when she lost the weight) and heredity.
Exercise may help, but everyone is different. There are NO guarantees.0 -
Agree 100%! exercise does not tone SKIN! It tones and builds muscle under it which can replace SOME of the volume lost with the fat, but not all of it. Completely depends on your own skin and weight.0

Thank you everyone.0
