Does MFP double count my fiber intake into both the fiber category and the carbohydrate category when I have them both displayed in my food diary?

I'm sure it would. It just takes whatever comes from food labels and on food labels, fibre is included in the total carbohydrate count. So same thing if you had sugar showing, it would show in sugar as well as be included in your total carb count. (So it just shows you how much of the carbs you are taking in is sugar or fibre).

Alright. That'd be the simplest way for MFP to tackle it. So, fiber can basically be subtracted from my carb intake.... then again, I don't eat enough carbs.

I was thinking they could only include digestible carbs in the count; even though it'd be dumb of them to do so.

If you want to take the fiber number out of the total carbs, look up 'net carb adjustment' in the food database. You can 'add servings' equivalent to the fiber in your meals and it will show a (negative number) on the carb total.

Different countries count fibre differently, so it depends. MFP uses what's in the entry, but for me in Australia, some items are carbs - fibre (Amercian counts) and some are carbs without the minus of fibre (it still tells you how much fibre though - Australia). If you ever get a minus after subtracting, it's not an American count.

    Good point!
