anyone on metformin?

I'm taking metformin for PCOS, and at first, I was successful in cutting out carbs. However, as time has progressed, I've noticed that I feel nauseous if I go as little as 3 hours without eating. And then when I get my hands on food, it's like I can't stop eating. I'm on all of these medications because PCOS was making me gain weight, but now I feel as though my uncontrollable eating will make me gain. Nothing makes me feel better except eating some carbs when this happens (I try to pair them with a fat, make them low glycemic, etc). Could this mean metformin is causing my blood sugar to be too low?

Metformin is a hypoglycemic agent, so it makes sense. Have you had any other symptoms of low blood sugar like shaking and dizziness/lightneadedness?0

I was on it at one point how long have you been taking it?0

I just get really tired and just feel nauseous. I was taking 500 mg for about two weeks and just upped the dosage to 1000 mg yesterday (I was feeling this before I increased the dosage though)0

Are you taking the metformin during a meal? It should always be taken with food.
I would suggest to contact your doctor/pharmacist right away and explain the symptoms that you are having. They may look at your prescriptions again and see if they are interacting in a bad way.
Hope you feel better soon.0
