Peanuts are high in fat.. But the good kind of fat.. Mono and poly unsaturated fats are good for you. They can actually help you lose weight when eaten in moderation. Peanuts are ok, but better options are almonds and walnuts.0

Peanuts are high in fat and cals. Keep in mind that roughly 25-30 percent of you diet should be fat. Healthy fats, like the ones found in peanuts, alvacodo, and olive oils. To be honest peanut butter (natural kind) is where I hey a lot of my daily fat.0

In moderation they are good. The fat from nuts are "healthy fats".0

"Walnuts rank above peanuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios and other nuts," Joe Vinson of the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania said in a statement. "A handful of walnuts contains almost twice as much antioxidants as an equivalent amount of any other commonly consumed nut. But unfortunately, people don't eat a lot of them. This study suggests that consumers should eat more walnuts as part of a healthy diet."
I personally buy walnuts now knowing this. Cut up apple, Fage brand greek yogurt & some walnuts are one of my favorite snacks! The Fage brand yogurt has no flavor so I'll sprinkle a just a tiny amt of sugar for a little sweet boost.0 -
hey did you mainly go by overall calories on here? i always go over on fiber and sugar by some and wondering if i should just look at the calories, and the reason im asking you is because i notice what an amazing amount of weight you lost! great job0

I love walnuts! Almonds and pecans too! I was obsessing with peanuts but have a slight intolerance growing with them. Bad bad tummy aches and etc.
Portion control is def a must cause nuts are high in cals.
Saw a beauty/fitness model competitor who ate 1/4 cup walnuts for breakfast everyday.0 -

Straight off the bat ^^^^^^ this.
peanuts / nuts are nutrient dense and have high cals because of that. means you should only have small amounts, but they are great for getting healthy fats, so if you needed more of that, nuts are a great source. I prefer brazils, walnuts, macadamias, almonds also.0 -

Then why does MFP tell them goal is 0??
because those fats dont have a hard limit, they are just counted in the total fat. saturated fat is the artery clogging fat. you can change the settings on the good fats to N/A here so they dont show up red.

It's left at zero so that you can customize it and set it yourself.. And remember, the numbers MFP gives you are just guidelines.. I don't use the numbers they give.0 -

Antioxidants in walnuts were two to 15 times as potent as vitamin E -- renowned for its powerful antioxidant effects, which protect the body against damaging natural chemicals involved in causing disease,Vinson says.
The findings were presented at the 241st National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society in Anaheim,Calif.0
