Job interview, do you wear perfume or not?
Replies

No. Perfume can be offensive to those of us with sensitive noses.0
-
I think a simple mist of something light would be appropriate. If you always wear it, you will most likely wear it on the job, no?0
-
just stick with the knee pads!
*for praying of course...sheesh ya'll got a filthy mind!!!0 -
knee pads are a good touch - lol0
-
I would definitely say no!0
-
I would say no. A lot of places are scent free these days (at least around here!) so wearing perfume will probably not be a good idea. You don't know if the interviewer is sensitive to scents or not. Better to be safe then sorry!0
-
First thing I was told was to never wear perfume when going to a job interview.0
-
Thanks!0

No!
I may wear a scented lotion on my arms. But actual spray perfume...No!0 -
You all rule, got 2nd interview.0
-
Never. Too many people with allergies and some people have a pretty heavy hand even when they think they don't. It just might not be a pleasant scent for someone on the interview panel. Err on the side of no.0
-
Never - !0
-
Nope! Deodorant and im good to go xD0
-
Never. Allergies and stuffy rooms.0

I only wear a very very light perfume for job interviews. Any perfume you choose should be light and not overbearing.
No musks or things like that.0 -
I'm not a lady...............but Imma give ya my 2 cents.....................first off, why would the ladies be the only suitable "answerers"?????????????? Do men not conduct interviews............let's use are heads ladies............
Moving along..............I would not where any scent. Be scentless..............seriously.............you do not know who that interviewer is............you might be reminding him of his ex wife (that b*tch) you might make em think your all fluff and no work ethic. He/she might be allergic to certain scents and not wanna hire you thinking your always gonna wear the scent. No distractions..........especially if you really got it going on anyways......I mean job wise.
Happy job hunting!0 -
No scent0

Something light. If you don't typically wear something light, then don't wear anything at all. Some people are sensitive to stronger colognes and perfumes.0
-
Never. Unless it's the sort of job you wouldn't mention to your mother. It is an interview, not a date.0
-
seems to bother alot of people nowadays; no perfume0
-
Never. Some people are bothered by perfume/cologne. Nobody is bothered by the lack of it (assuming you've got good hygiene). So a simple risk analysis says forget the scent.0
-
yes!
but very little
to me a man wearing perfume tells me that he looks after himself.
and of course make sure that it's something light and not sickly sweet or over powering.0 -
only a teeny, weeny, weeny bit if you are one of those that applies it moments before the interview. else apply a little an hour or so before...but keep it subtle.0
-
You all rule, got 2nd interview.
well did you wear perfume?
*y'all0 -
Something light. If you don't typically wear something light, then don't wear anything at all. Some people are sensitive to stronger colognes and perfumes.
agreed.0 -
I would say yes, but just put one dab or spray on. Just one!0
-
yes but just a spray or two. nothing strong. and tbh mine wears off quickly! expenisve stuff too!0
-
Agree with the majority never wear it. In fact don't wear it to the gym either, or airplanes!! It's the worst when yo have someone get next to you at the gym who has such strong sents on!! not to mention sitting next to them on the airplane for 15 hrs!!0
-
I wear perfume everywhere else, even to work too. My only exception would be not at the interview. You want to be remembered for your skills and any scent is distracting.0
-
no perfume..or scented lotions just be clean from shower...and dont forget your deodorant!0
