Im I right ?

Im I right in saying, if you keep within 1200 - 1400 cal, when ur tdee is around 1700, any weight gain on the scales will just be fluid retention? Iam assuming it is impossible to gain true fat/weight, under those circumstances ?

Yep. Your total cals look ok on your diary.
    I'd watch the salt
Do you add salt that you aren't logging?
I saw one day that was really high.

I cook from scratch 90% of my food, so I usually stay fairly low on sodium, i think, just had a couple of slightly higher days this week. What would you consider low ?I think you are probably right about the salt intake, Ill try and watch what im cooking this week. the cold weather makes me want to eat differently. Its amazing what can make a difference to your progress :frown: Thanks for the heads up.

MFP recommends not going over 2500mg of sodium per day. That is a pretty solid number according to most medical recommendations as well.

I agree with previous posters. Eating below your TDEE will not lead to any fat gain. Fluctuations or fluid gains are very possible though if you've gone higher than normal on your sodium intake in the last week or so.

Try to get back to eating more home-cooked food from scratch with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, etc., and try not to add too much salt.

I had a small plateau this month and when I looked at the nutrition graphs I found the salt was higher than usual.
Back on track with my home cooked food.
If you use HP or Worstershire or anything like that they are a bit salty.
You can use oregano or mixed herbs to get some flavour up.
Your off day was due to the tuna I guess. probably tinned in brine?

    any way, all the best
