eating your exercise calories

Hey guys -
I'm sure this has been addressed (and I HAVE been reading the other threads, ok) but I'm curious:
Based on experience, if you (for example), needed 2,000 calories a day to sustain your weight, went on a 1,500 calorie a day diet to lose a lb a week and exercised away 500 calories a day and ate back those 500 calories, would you still lose 2 lbs a week?
I noted on MFP the default was 1 lb a week.
Thanks!

You would lose 1 pound a week. Since you're already on a deficit of 500 calories, when you exercise away 500 calories, you're only technically eating 1000 net calories. So you eat back those 500 calories, and then you're eating your 1500 calories a day. It is a little confusing, but I can say from experience that it works!!!0

That's exactly what I thought which is exactly why I wouldn't eat my exercise calories.
:P
However, I would eat something after a workout - a banana is always good. (It's good post-workout food for the calories [200] and nutrients [like potassium]).
EH, I hate working out (my body moves every which way it shouldn't and stuff) but I do love playing with my son. We're going to the park later once I'm done with the LAT crossword.0 -
FYI....I have been eating my exercise calories and I have lost 10 pounds0

How long did it take you to lose ten pounds and how much do you exercise and how much did you lose in your first week or two?
Stats, please!

I eat my exercise calories--and I've lost 28 pounds since April 1. Got a lot to lose though, so that has effected how much I lose at first.
I do a base 1200 calorie diet then add in whatever exercise calories I eat.
My first week, I lost 3 pounds, which has been about the average since I started but a couple weeks I lost a little more.0 -
I eat my exercise calories and have lost 2 lbs a week. I'm on 1800 cals a day, and usually have at least 1000 exercise calories, and I eat every one of them. (I weigh 320 now, in case you were wondering!) :flowerforyou:0

You guys are starting out with more weight. I don't think it would work for me. Congrats to you guys though!!
1000 exercise calories! Holy moly if I exercised 1000 calories a day that'd be great.
I really wish my son were in daycare hehe0
