Sitting on yer *kitten* is not easy - the challenge of resting

For the last few months I have had something on my agenda every day ranging from training, working or studying usually. Today is the first day that I have decided to do nothing and sit about the house and I am finding it so difficult. I need the rest day as my eyes have been stinging for a few days and I am very tired. Normally on here the challenge seems to be getting people off the couch but today I have the opposite problem I want to get up and do something but my body needs the rest. Anyone else find it difficult to stop and do nothing??

Nice challenge, I'm sure there are many like you. I can never just do nothing or sit still, I'm a fidgeter haha. Try occupying yourself by doing something relaxing that you enjoy. It can get reallyyy boring otherwise, and I get bored very very easily.
I'll join in the nothingness haha0 -
I must be lazy because i love days when i have NOTHING to do0

Normally I would read stuff but that always ends up work related or research related so I am avoiding it.0

Me too! lol I always seem to find something to do, that's not really doing anything. Mainly dossing on MFP, and watching the occasional film.
How about renting a movie off the TV that you've wanted to watch for a while, but haven't yet. Or learning / cooking up a new recipe to have for dinner....?0 -
I'm a fidgeter... I can't do just nothing. I have to be doing something.... unless I am sleeping.0

Must be the laws of entropy kicking in.0

Having the sammeee problem! Once I get going with things, I just can't stop. Sometimes even sitting down watching TV is a trigger for me, because I'll watch it, and they'll talk about something I don't understand, so I'll do this huge research project. gah. lol0

I'm the same way. I like to workout everyday. I just like the feeling. But, I have been experimenting and I am learning that good solid rest days are providing more benefit. Sometimes, a couple of days in a row is really providing more benfit than constant exercise everyday. I feel more energetic overall, rather than worn out everyday. Of course, it depends how hard you work out. I tend to workout fairly hard. So, I've been both lightening up, and resting more. The results are amazing. ...just something to consider for all you over achievers.0

I have the exact same problem. I tend to tell myself I need rest; I need to read other things; think other things; etc. But somehow, my mind wants to do the exact opposite. It wants to continue with the work.

Yeah I workout extremely hard - I hit everything in life full on and know that I need a rest hence why I am forcing this. By rest I don't just mean not working out I mean doing nothing0 -
