Dear Trolls: Please be aware that you are the reason people don't get the help they need, because your bullying, sarcastic, nasty answers make people afraid to ask questions to which they really need answers. The answer may seem simple and obvious to you, but it may be a missing piece of information that keeps someone else from meeting their goals, so give it a rest!

I agree completely. Bullies is all they are.
There is no reason why someone can not reply in a respectful manner - I wish we could start banning those who act like children when it comes to replying to answers.0 -
Some people just exist to hurt others because for a brief moment, it makes them feel less bad about their own pathetic existence.
It's best to ignore them or just report them.0 -

nonsense... troll food is mushy and tasteless much like the comments we tend to go to... LOL0 -

To the OP, I 100% completely agree with you and I was going to post something similar to this, but I was afraid of the backlash from a-holes and trolls. You are brave. And thank you for having the guts to say something. :drinker:0

Stop trolling its noones fault but thier own0 -
To be clear: I've never really been trolled myself, and I wouldn't let it stop me if I were. My concern is that it is creating an atmosphere in which people are afraid to ask questions and get the help that they need, because they are afraid of a rude or hateful answer.0

trolls are everywhere.
the real problem is the quality of the information that comes out of this forum. a lot of it is recycled regurgitated rehash that has been pushed down the chain from those who know a little or maybe a lot, to the majority who just repeat what they can remember even though its wrong.
I like facts, or a reasonable margin of variance that can be monitored over time. a good proportion of the time the information provided though this forum on the core calculations is incorrect, throwing someones diet off by up to 500cals daily.
then theres a lot of people who dont actually want to be healthy and just want a quick fix to their weight problem through unhealthy means
these people get a frosty reception. they think they're being trolled, but really they want people to tell them that their plan to eat gelatine for a month is a good idea.
most not nice people here are Douchecanoes, not real trolls.0 -
Sweetie like in real life *kitten*/b!tches are everywhere. I'm really not trying to be rude but you just have to pull up your big girl panties and take it for what it is. Plenty of people on this website are helpful. Your post is indeed just feeding the trolls. What's the point of getting pissed off about what people you don't know say? Who the *kitten* cares.
You're on here for you, whining about mean people will get you nowhere.
Good luck! :flowerforyou:
Jeez, what a snotty fricking thing to say! Obviously, YOU care what people say, or you wouldn't have went out of your way to read this thread and post this snotty a** reply to the OP, SWEETIE! And if you even THINK about whining about what I just said to you, you are a fricking hypocrite. Now pull up your big girl panties and GTFO.

I wasn't trying to be snotty I was just being honest. It was only snotty if you read it that way.
For the record... I didn't read your statement as snotty... I read it as straight to the point.
I don't advocate anyone being mean... but I do think that sometimes we coddle people a bit much.
When you push your body hard... the muscles complain, and if you work out really hard, it hurts afterwards - sometimes a LOT. But it's also how you see the fastest growth. If we stick with a lot of reps at a super light weight, we may see progress but it will likely be slow and potentially discouraging.
Sometimes it goes the same for our minds... sometimes the truth stings, but the sting of the truth - although it hurts - is often what we need in order to see the fastest growth. If we are coddled and hugged, we may make it to our end goal, but we may also give up before then.
I have been tough loved, a bit here, and definitely in life. I didn't like it at the time it was being dished, but I totally got it.
Sift through and look for any possible truths in the mean posts, keep the truths, dismiss the rest.
Thanks OP for the post. Cheers0 -

Well, because as an outsider you can see things more clearly, thats why we have judge and jurors and don't just allow our justice systems to be controlled by emotive clap-trap.
There is NO reason why people who use this website should not be able to ask questions. Giving someone the cold shoulder because you dont like what they do, is only likely to push them towards doing it more.
If you dont have the time to give a rounded, CARING answer to their suggestions, well dont bother replying, no body is forcing you.0 -
Lmso. Yep. That was my point too. You people crack me up. Now, please, no one comment by asking what I mean by "You people". lolSweetie like in real life *kitten*/b!tches are everywhere. This.
OP: These "you're all a bunch of meanies" posts get made about twice a week now, and they all go the same way EVERY TIME.
Step 1: Someone like you makes a vague post with no specifics about people here being trolls/mean/etc. The lack of specifics makes OP seem like a champion for the "little guys" here, but often the thread that spurs this rant has nothing to do with people actually being mean but rather simple disagreements or someone reading way too much emotion into an unemotional comment somewhere.
Step 2: Someone comes in and says, "grow up and ignore people you don't like and report the ones that actually violate the rules."
Step 3: Someone gets butthurt over Step 2 and stoops to name-calling, cursing, insinuating that poster of Step 2 must be an amoral, self-loathing, loner with no life instead of a human being who simply disagrees with the OP. (hello hypocrisy)
Step 4: ****-storm ensues.
Step 5: Mods lock thread and hand out warnings and strikes to everyone who disagreed with OP in the first place because posters like the ones in Step 3 reported them, and the mods don't bother actually reading the threads they hand out strikes and warnings for in the first place.
Step 6: Thread disappears.
Tell me again how these threads actually accomplish anything?
MFP is one of the nicest forums I've ever seen mostly because the people that whine the loudest on here get their way regardless if they're right or not. I really feel sorry for those of you who think it's "mean" on here. If you are one of those people who thinks everyone here is a mean a-hole, do not EVER go to another online forum. EVER. They will eat you alive.0 -

well, none, except the nugget of "you couldn't have made that up" gold you quoted.
