It takes time, try and be patient with it. 1630 sounds ok to me, but I don't admit to know any science of it etc. Are you an eat back calories burned or not ? My calorie goal has been set alot lower and that's working for me but I'd stick at your current one for a bit longer0

noone can answer that without knowing what your BMR and TDEE are. without knowing that a number is just a number0

Don't be too hard on yourself. I've realized that when I focus too much on weight loss my weight doesn't seem to budge BUT when I just focus on enjoying life and fit my workouts in that the lbs just melt off me. Crazy but I used to stress myself out thinking about how I can lose weight faster. Now I just workout and eat semi-healthy (80/20) and my weight loss has been significant.
It will come off but you have to give it time. BTW - I'm 5'8, CW is 224lbs and my calorie intake is around 1800. I try to NOT use my workout calories but hell if I want that cupcake then I'm gonna eat it dammit. lol.0 -
It's probably too low unless you're eating exercise calories. Figure out your BMR and eat 200 above it is the easiest way to determine a number to aim for. From there it's tweaking but at your weight if you've been eating 1600 a day for 3 weeks you should have lost something.0

It's a good number. I workout a couple times less than you and I am 5'4 and I am on 1530. I eat some of my exercise calories back and in 60 days I have lost 6kg (13lb). You don't have to starve to lose weight0

Not sure where you got the BMR + 200...that's awful advice as it doesn't take into account the activity level of the person at all. However, I do agree that she should have lost on 1600 calories.0 -
It is hard to know if 1630 is too high without more information. That said - I'm 5'2" and would not lose weight at 1600 a day. I had to reduce my daily intake to 1300 a day on average (with exercise calories already included in that). Some days I go a little higher than 1300, some days I go a little lower. But, that is what works for me.0

how much do you weigh?
how old?
How active?0 -
You didn't say how old, so I used 30 years old and Moderately Active.
These are you numbers
"Mifflin-St Jeor
(FOR WOMEN)"
BMR 1,718
Maintenance 2,749
Cut (@ 15%) 2,336
Build (@ 15%) 3,161

Well, I'm 4'11 and I'd just about die if I ate 1630 calories a day. That's definitely the lowest I'd ever go and I'm only ~105-110 pounds.0 -

Everybody is different. I wish that I could say the same as you! It'd be a lot easier in terms of meal planning, that's for sure.0 -
I use this website to help decide my caloric intake:

I really like it.0 -
You should be losing weight on that amount of calories. Do you have treat days?0

you did say you were "eating somewhat bad". does that mean you weren't counting calories? when i don't count calories, i don't lose. i am 5'2" and my TDEE is 1,700 so i would not lose on 1,630 but as a previous poster said, at 4'11" she eats a lot more. you would also have to make sure the 1,630 is accurate as in weighing and measuring your food.0 -
weight loss is also going to depend on the type of workouts you are doing.weight lifting is my primary workout and i havent lost any scale weight over the past few months but i have lost multiple inches of fat since i'm fitting in smaller sizes and i have pockets of fat that are just disappearing
so OP just because you arent losing scale weight a)doesn't mean you are eating too much or b)doesnt mean you arent making progress.0 -
can you help me with my TDEE and BMR? PLEASE? age 53....i'm set for 1400 calorie intake....moderate activitiy....workout 3-4 days/week0
