Hand exercises! You can strengthen your forearms, wrists, and hands with different movements holding a weight that low.

You can find a whole bunch online, just search "exercises with one dumbell"... Here is one site I found :)

You could check out Jillian Michael's dvd "Shred It". In that she uses a kettle-weight, but says you can just use a single dumb-bell. That might work for you (or some other kettle-weight routine).

Fast forward about 41 seconds in and you'll see her doing a workout with just 1 weight, its a great workout too...

Curls, extensions, punches, blocks. Anything you can do one arm at a time

Cool, thanks! I must sound so dumb, but I'm new to strength training, and when I think weights, my mind automatically went to barbel style. I found this lonely guy at a thrift shop for $1, I figured it could be used for something,

hold it in the center of your body and do regular squats (legs should width apart), plie' squats (toes turned out and legs greater than shoulder width apart), close squats (legs/feet together/touching)

hold it in the center of your body and do regular step forward lunges, step back lunges, cross over lunges, clock lunges (step forward, step back, step to 1 O'clock, step back, step to 2 O'clock, step back, step back, step to 3 O'clock step back - that's one rep, one leg)

Do arm curls one arm at a time

Do tricep kickbacks one arm at a time

Hold the dumbbell with both hands and do tricep extensions behind your head

    Do one arm shoulder press

    Do one arm shoulder flies

Do one arm bent over rows

Hold the dumbbell with both hands and do a weighted sit up

What to do with one 15 lb weight

    Buy heavier weight.

Unless you've been in a coma for the last 10 years, 15 pounds will do so very little for you as far as resistance training.

Your child weighs more than 15 pounds I'm sure, and you can lift him/her. You need more weight.
