Best workout headphones?

My headphones recently died. It's amazing since I've had them since I got my iPod almost four years ago. So now I'm on the market for new ones, and I'm wondering what you think the best headphones are for active cardio. I was just using the earbuds that came with my little magic box, but I hated them, because they were always falling out, in part because I am very petite and that includes my ears, so they never really fit. I am open to suggestions, but I am a college student so I can't really act on suggestions over $25.

I would say anything with an over the ear hook. I have something like these: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RP-HS43-Clip-Headphones-System/dp/B0001IXUEE/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1267710705&sr=8-10

They are especially good when you are running outdoors because you can still hear cars. They don't fall off your ears either.

Oh, and check a store like Marshals. They occasionally have them for a really good price.

Since I love how my earbuds that came with my ipod sound I wanted to just be able to use those while running so I ordered these hooks that clip on to them and they work great. Here's the link:

I just bought these last weekend from best buy:

    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDREX36V-BLU-Earbud-Headphone/dp/B001EYU3JY/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1267710741&sr=1-20

I found afterwards they were cheaper from Amazon. Figures lol

I've never been able to wear the earbuds that come with the ipod. They make my ears burn and throb after 30 minutes of wear. These are super comfortable and they come with three different sized earbuds so you can adjust them perfectly to your ear. In the past, I've bought Skullcandy earbuds which are also adjustable, but twice the wire has shorted out on me after about 3 months so I don't suggest getting anything from that company. I've worn the Sony's probably for about 4-5 hours this week so far and I'm loving them. No matter what I do, they stay snugly in place and I hardly feel them. And, my music actually sounds better with them then the previous earbuds I've used :)

I have Skull Candy Earbuds. They are amazing and come with several sizes of "rubber" tips to fit your ear custom. I got mine at radio shack for $10, and i have seen them Target and Wal Mart as well.

    Rock on.

I have skull candys too and I love them. My old pair lasted for six years before I got my current pair. I have very small ears also and I love the rubber tips. Good Luck!

Oooh, I might have to get some Skull Candy earbuds, I've had half a dozen different ones and never found the right fit that stays comfortable for long periods.

i have Nike Vapors. There are several that look the same, but you can get them at Target or Best Buy. They are the black ones and are $25. They hook around your ear, but are super adjustable, which i like, because my ears are kind of small, so they fit everyone. There is still a bud like part that fits in your ear, but not tightly at all, it kind of just rests there.

I wound up getting the skullcandies because they were on sale at the university bookstore. So far, I like them, although the sound quality is noticeably different from the Apple earbuds. I'm willing to trade it for comfort, though.
  • I have an answer to your question about ear buds falling out during your workout. A product called Yurbuds. They are a rubber enhancers that are custom fit to your ear and go over the standard 15 mm ear buds that come with IPods and most other MP3 players. All you do is upload a picture of your ear with an ear bud in it and they will size you. They are guaranteed not to fall out and are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. $20 is all they cost. Check them out at www.yurbuds.com and if you purchase a pair, please enter my affiliate code, ISS1B, so they know I am doing a good job promoting!! Enjoy!

I am always having problems with my headphones because (a) they fall out of my ears and (b) the last couple of pairs I've bought die out within a few months. Thanks for the great suggestions. I have heard good things about Skull Candy.
