They need to find a good writer and go back to actual sets....no more green screen!0

Star Wars is an amazing franchise but, as cool as Star Wars was/is, I personally think they should've left it at Episode 6. Anything after that felt very forced, lik they had to work too hard for a 'new' plot/subplot. Just my humble opinion that I'll probably get blasted for!
Another thought is - if Disney buys it, any sort of releases will be severely limited. Look at what happened to the Muppets when Disney bought them!0 -
Oh my....I'm excited to hear they will make more. I was under the impression Lucas said no to 7-9.0
-
limited releases are better than no releases. DIsney will get it right. Christopher Nolan to direct?0

That's what I thought.
I love Star Wars but still think Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman were casting mistakes for episodes 1-3! Ewan McGregor on the other hand was awesome.0 -
now that it is out of Lucas' hands hopefully we wont get those mistakes anymore. he was great for the big picture but kind of lost it on the little things a lot of times.0

This is scary AND exciting!!0

As long as Lucas doesn't direct or write any jokes. .or dialog. . or do any of the editing. .Then I'm THERE!0

-sobs on floor-
why do they want to keep RUINING Star Wars?
The prequals could have been so amazing and fell so short
just leave it alone!0 -
The main story arch was always planned to be a trio of trilogies. This will be awesome!0

I am intrigued. hmm. I wonder how hubby will feel about this?0

No, I completely agree with you. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and reading about this made me shudder0 -
Wow... I don't know how old y'all are, but I'm 41 and I've been hearing rumours of episodes 7, 8 and 9 since before 1983. This is the first time anything "real" has actually come of it. I'm surprised, pleased and also worried!
On the plus side, Disney being the money grabbers that they are, I'm pretty hopeful we'll see the very original Star Wars released properly on Blu Ray, sans "improvements." (including the "Episode IV: A New Hope" title)
(I honestly didn't mind the prequels - except maybe Ep 1 - and I'm not even that phased about Lucas's "improvements" - in fact, I hate the ewoks almost as much as Jar Jar...)0 -

Anyone who didn't like the last Muppets movie, can't honestly say they like the Muppets. That movie was pure Muppets0 -
was just reading there will be 3 movies to start...2-3 years apart and they are far along in the creative process.0

guys, what if, and hear me out on this, the whole new trilogy ended up being a live action "Wall-E?' The Empire has dispatched Droids to the Dagobah system to clean up the mess it had left behind for so long. However, the droids end up being reprogrammed by a mysterious green creature to learn the ways of the force. What force you ask? The force of compassion, thoughtfulness, and LOVE!0

I love Star Wars but the only thing I did not like. Was that 1, 2 & 3 had all the vehicles and weapons far advanced of 4, 5 & 6. Now when they bring out 7 it will be with even better weapons. I guess many people would look past that but to me it would have been great had they just kept the technology in order.0

just another thing for Disney to cash out and ruin0
-
Lucas was already doing his best to ruin the franchise. Greedo shooting first? the lackluster prequels?0
-
Butttt nooooo.... A Disney-fied Jar Jar Binks! Think of the children! Think of my sanity!0
-
The revised movies are horrible and a crime against humanity. I refuse to see the prequels. I want the original trilogy, without the horrifyingly done and very obvious CGI, on blu-ray please. Selling the franchise to Disney? Really? Really?
EDIT: I am willing to see what Disney does with movie number 7 and I will see the prequels to prepare me for that movie IF IN FACT DISNEY DOES AN INCREDIBLE AND MIND-BOGGLINGLY AMAZING JOB.0 -

I 100% agree on Ewan McGregor I LOVED him as Obi-Wan especially in Episode One...woooo! *fans self* But I'm not looking forward to this. What will they do for 7-9, follow the books that were written that take place after 6, of how Luke met his wife, Han and Leia's children?? Will be interesting but the story line was already pretty much established through books on how the next episodes should go. Die hard fans will be leery if they change the way things have been set up through books. Just look at Star Trek.0 -
i think they need an original story for the next 3 movies. as long as its good people wont care...just look at the new Star Trek.0
-
I actually heard about this earlier and it motivated me to punch the crap out of my punching bag and smash weights.
Furous Angerrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
