Hello.

I am going out for Girls Night Out tonight and we are going to a Chinese/Japanese restaurant. What is low calorie but filling? I usually like California Roll, but looking for some other choices.

I used to love the California Roll myself, but it has like 300 calories, 50 grams of carbs, and about 1000mg of sodium... so no more Cali Roll for me.

Try steamed rice and veggies, or something without sauce... that's what will kill your plans for healthy eating in a hurry.

Do you like sashimi or nigiri sushi? Those are both a little more health-friendly than Maki Rolls.

Hi thanks for your post. What is sashimi? Is it raw?

Yep, it's the fish part of sushi-no rice.
Stick with steamed veg and seafood or edamame (if you're not opposed to soy). If they have brown rice get that instead of the white.
  • I'll recommend in Japanese menu: udon noodle=220 cal. 920mg sodium and Nigiri Sushi, Salmon= 1pcs. 68cal. 29mg sodium. In Chinese menu only vegetable and something with tofu, like Ma po tofu= 311 cal. 608mg sodium and I would say just eat half of the rice or no rice.
