Got lots of weight to lose!

Have been using MFP for over a month now but really have not really looked at all that was available. I am a 41 year old mother of 2. I work as an RN in a local hospital. I have always been overweight but recently decided that I was the only thing standing in my way and I had to change my behaviors. I always wanted the "magic pill", I wanted to eat the same way, stay lazy and be fit and healthy. I finally realized that I spent a lot of time telling my patients what they needed to do to get healthy and I was not even following my own advice. I have lost 44 pounds but still have about 80-100 to go. It is really hard to work fulltime, take care of a family and find time for myself but it has to be done if I want to be around to take care of them for many more years! I have had several plateaus but each time i have stayed the course and started losing again. I know that this is a life long journey but it does get hard when I see how much more I have to lose!

Welcome! I sat down and figured I either invest the time now and gain it on the back end than use the time now unwisely to cut it short on the back end. As an RN you should know this as well or better than most of us. Well done on making a decision to take charge! Your 80 yo self will be especially grateful, not to mention your children and future grandchildren. On top of all of that, you will feel better physically, and professionally. Small sacrifices now pay big rewards in the future. The hardest part is past you: making a decision to change. The rest is simply setting your ultimate goal and then breaking it up into smaller more short range goals that bring you closer to your ultimate one. If you have to take baby steps, take baby steps. each one is a little bit closer. The road is long but you can do it! Imagine, realize, work, achieve! :)
