... they serve beer (alcohol "free") and coffee,
it isn't a chain,
the brothers that own it are also the PTs,
it's never over-crowded,
and it's 50 meters from my office,
Why do you love your gym?

Because its a place to go that has weights?0

I love mine because of all the meatheads that walk around like they own the place. It makes me smile every time (because people that go to a gym to look good have little else going for them)0
-
Because it's at my office so it couldn't be more convienent. And it's got a lot of awesome equipment. And....I'm usually the only one in there :laugh:0
-
i love my gym because the regulars are like a family and the "meatheads" as many would like to call them are actually pretty smart and know what they are doing. everyone pretty much helps each other out and the girlds coming in there that dress pretty and dont actually do any real work kinda get "snickered" at, lol.0

I don't. In fact, I could think of a plethora of reasons why to hate Gold's. However, it's the best I can do for now in this area, until either myself or someone else here opens a gym worth going to. You know, the kind that allows chalk, doesn't cry about dropping weight, has chains and stones...I could go on.0

I love my gym because it's in my office and free for all employees...and they don't skimp on equipment.0
-
It's very seldom crowded. They have 1 rack, nobody uses it.0
-
It's 10 bucks a month and I can usually get a squat rack.0
-
I never have to wait for a machine or particular weight
It's wherever I am
It never ceases to amaze me
My gym improves as I do
(own bodyweight exerciser) - but I wanted to play too! :happy:0 -
I love my gym because it is always clean, has tons of equipment, and the staff is made up of welcoming, friendly folks. and though it's the YMCA they have never, ever, even once tried to push christianity on me. They have lots of fun and interesting classes like yoga, zumba, spinning, etc. and they have a great aquatics area that includes a pool, sauna, and whirlpool, and lots of water programs for all ages, from toddlers to seniors.0

I love my gym because they have weights, stairmasters &some very committed people.0
-
It's well equipped.
Part of a small local chain.
Open 24 hours.
Clean
Has a generally friendly, no BS, clientele.0 -
1. It's always open
2. No crowds
3. I can do squats and deadlifts(or any other lift or exercise I want) without an evil stare
4.Really #1 IT'S FREE (cuz it's my shop/garage)0 -
There are 3 within 2 miles (run from work to gym and back typically)
All kinds of gear
I'm allowed to leave work, go to the gym, and come back, and get a better reputation for it.
Gym use is free
All of the classes are free
It's on base, so not everyone goes there and most people are helpful/respectful0 -
Because all I need to do is walk downstairs and go into my living room.0
-
Everything I could ever want to use is all in one place at the YMCA0
-
because it's in my living room0
-
1. It includes exercise activities for my kids. I work out while they are doing karate, rock climbing or playing a little b-ball
2. They encourage families to be healthy together.
3. They don't tolerate BS in the weight room
4. Did I mention I get to work out while my kids do their thing rather than sitting in a chair watching them??0 -
No membership fee (military training facility)
The staff is full of fun, chatty folks who remember your name and what you like to do in the gym
Never run out of equipment wipes
They have a family room with a play area you can see well with lots of toys
They have a salt water pool
It's got high ceilings so that the grunts and chatting aren't really that noticeable0 -
Because my daughter's swim team also trains there. And that means my wife has to hang around for a couple of hours while DD practices. Which means my wife has started working out to pass the time - making herself more healthy as a result.
Because it has a pool (obviously), indoor track, adequate weight room, and our whole family only pays $80 a month.
It has a great teen room my son can hang in while we work out. Active Wii games, and endless rock climbing wheel, other active things made just for that age group.0 -
Because i get to shoot the **** with my buddies, smash some weight, release some stress, and i generally feel more comfortable in a gym.0
-
I love my gym because it is open 24 hours, everyone there is friendly and it is helping me become a healthier person.0
-
I love my gym because:
* it's not a soccer mom hang out
* the people there actually work out
* it's loud, sweaty and awesome!
* it's open 24 hours0 -
Because it's at my office so it couldn't be more convienent. And it's got a lot of awesome equipment. And....I'm usually the only one in there
Mine's at my office too. It's REALLY hard to come up with an excuse not to go when it's just a few floors down. We have all the basic equipment and locker rooms and it's only $10 per month. Sometimes ours is busy, it depends on the weather and time of year. Of course it starts getting crowded in January... And when it's rainy or too cold, all the runners come inside to use the treadmills.0 -
I love my gym because
It's pretty inexpensive
close to home
has awesome friendly, knowledgable staff
no really bad people that I've seen / heard about
it's always clean
has lots of equipment so you never have to wait
the only thing I wish it had that it doesnt is a pool - but I can go to another in the chain that does if I want a pool that badly.0 -
Because it's in my house.0
