halloween rushed dinner

anybody got any quick pre-trick or treating supper ideas? We get home between 6-6:30 and have to be at my inlaws by 7pm(luckily they live 1 mile away). There is going to be a fair amount of costuming time for the kids to fit in there, too.

  • Im having my husband grab something on his way home.
You could do breakfast for dinner, soup, sandwiches.

Mini english muffin pizzas - Top muffin halves with sauce, cheese, veggies, and turkey pepperoni and pop in the oven, you're good to go. I like mine crispier so I usually bake the bottom half of the muffin a little first, then add the sauce/cheese/toppings, then broil to brown the cheese.

Or breakfast for dinner. Egg sammiches are amazing.

Taco soup or soft shell tacos, both are quick and easy.
  • I am doing sloppy joes. Pretty much just have to brown the meat, and you can do that while you are helping the kids get their costumes on...
or just do PB & J tonight!! Since when do kids ever complain about that, LOL

I'm getting carry out pizza. It fits in my calorie goals for the day, tastes good, and will be easy to eat before trick or treating.

So... not healthy at all, but I am making mummy dogs earlier in the day and then re-heating them at dinner time. It's the one day of the year I will make hotdogs for the kids.
