Workout pain and muscle soreness!

Hello,

So I'm jumping back into MFP and working out again. Last night I was on the treadmill and had pain in the side of my calf. Today my knee, feet, and body is sore. I am in the obese catergory right now :(, and wondering what everyone does to soothe the soreness and keep pushing along.

I have an ellipitical and a treadmill at home and that is where I workout. I was on last night for 37 minutes at a pretty intense pace.

I took some Advil this morning. Any advice is welcome! :)

    As our fitness improves and your muscles adapt the soreness will go away.

    Are you stretching after your workout? If not that should help alleviate some of the soreness as well.

    It's natural and as you get into better shape it should fade. You are using muscles you haven't used in a while.

    I haven't been strectching but will definitely start! Thanks for the encouragement, I can't wait till it gets easier again.

    I actually felt like I had a really good workout tonight with NO pain at all....PLUS I was able to push myself further! :smile:

    After really sore days I do an hour of intense yoga. Helps with the pain.
