I went from 419 to about 275 in 4 years. Then, being the idiot I am, I managed to gain back 25 of it.
Over the past year, I have shed 10 of that and am at about 290 now.
I have been doing a food journal on my own since Feb '08. I discovered this place this morning, and I like the idea of having a place to "commiserate" with others. It also gives me another good place to cross-check calories for my MS Word Food Journal.
I have managed to go from 3 Diabetic meds to just 1, and have reduce the cholesterol statin med by 75%. Being 60, I doubt I will be able to eliminate them, but reducing them gives me something positive to concentrate on.
I live on 10 acres of trees in North-central Missouri.

Welcome aboard! I hear you loud and clear about getting off the meds. I'm about to completely eliminate my blood pressure meds, just by weight loss and a bit of exercise. It feels soooo good. Don't set your sights too low. There are quite a few people here who have eliminated meds totally so we know it can be done.0

I look forward to seeing your progress. I am 39 (at least for a little while longer). I should hit the 100 lbs lost mark sometime in the next week, thanks largley to using this website. I was at around 350 lbs a little over a year ago. Today is my first day off of my blood pressure meds, and it feels great. Keep up the good work!0

Welcome. Coming off meds is a huge achievement and you can and will be able to come off blood pressure meds altogether eventually, that should be huge motivation for you! Congrats on your accomplishment so far, it takes great determination to lose so much on your own without a support network so heres hoping you'll find it a bit easier from here on out!0
