haven't lost anything in 5 weeks

This is driving me nuts. I'm not doing anything differently, and I started on MFP 4 months ago and I've lost about 15 lbs total. I'm hypothyroid, but I don't get why I was losing weight and then just stopped completely. Still exercising, but a little bit less than before, but I'm stricter with myself with my calories. I don't go over 1500; maybe twice in this 5 weeks. My sodium hasn't been too high either. I just had my thyroid levels checked about 2 months ago and i'm still on the hypo-side, but closer to normal. I don't know what to do or try anymore before I completely lose all motivation in this...again.

The same thing has happened to me......I watch everything I eat, doing 20 to 30 cardio every morning...and nothing..in fact I gained back 4 of the 11 pounds I lost. frustrating.0

Maybe you're buidling muscle? I added 5 minutes to my workout routine, it seemed to have stepped things up again.0

time to switch up ur exercise routine me thinks! xx
as u change, so should ur routine, maybe u need more intensity, or challenge in ur workouts
or maybe ur bodys changing still, just not the scale...do u measure too?0 -
Have you gained anything? Because staying the same is also a decent result. Maybe change the exercise you're doing - the intensity of it, or how long you do it for...?0

This is an uphill battle - those exact words came from my Endo - maybe try calorie-cycling to shake your body up -
Dont give up - its been 4 months since my scale moved - but I started lifting and have gone down 2 pant sizes - try changing your body comp and not watching the scale - its a dirty *kitten*....
There is a Thyroid group here also that has tons of great support....0 -
I don't have a routine.. Anything I do, I do with my kids, lately it's usually just walking. I don't have too much time lately, but either way, with the diet control I have, I still should have lost SOMETHING in the past 5 weeks.0

It's kind of hard to help you because your profile is not open, nor your diary. Are you getting enough sleep, enough water? Make sure your diary reflects everything you are truly eating which includes tastes, bites and late light snacks. Only two things affect weight loss really and that's diet & exercise. Good luck0

I wish I could say the same...irritated over the pounds of stuff I have lost, money, keys, food...just kidding...sometimes you have to change your routine and "shock" your body.0

I go back and forth about 3-4 lbs. 206-2100 -

You have hit a plateau- happens all of the time where your body will loose and loose and then stay the same for a while. Mine lasted months! Changing your routine will keep it guessing and loosing weight. Try adding in a little more exercise. 2 Chillies a day have also been proven to speed up your metabolism (if you can stomach them....I can't). Hope it helps. Also keep measurements! Scales are not the nest way to keep track as water retention ect, :-)0

videos at home after kids r in bed? thats what i did for a while. most are only 40min or so, which i would have spent watching tv or on my laptop otherwise. i made sure to make lunches etc before i started so i wouldnt have anything but the couch to look forward to after i was done! lol.0 -
I would suggest increasing your activity some days (if possible) and staggering your calorie intake.. It keeps your body guessing.0

I'm in about the same boat as you. My scale has just swung up or down 2 pounds for about 4-6 weeks and it's frustrating. I'm almost done with level 1 of the 30 Day Shred and I took measurements before and I will take some this weekend after the first 10 days is done, but I'm not really expecting much. I did over 100 miles of walking with some jogging thrown in during October and not much if any loss. What I just did last week was to increase my calories 500 per day so I'm going to try that for 2 weeks and see if I notice anything. I was doing a LOT of cardio since I started this summer and perhaps I wasn't getting enough calories. Seems counter-intuitive, but we'll see in a week or so if it helped.0

My weight loss has slowed down after the first month. Just last n ight I looked at my progress and I've only lost 6.5 lbs in 90 days. That seems like nothing. But its not far off from averaging 1/2 lb week, which is recommended. Of course I didn't lose 1/2 lb each week. I had a full month where I didn't lose a single ounce. Then I lost about 1 1/2 lbs the following week. Also during that time, I took my measurements and I was seeing a change there. Which did keep me motivated. The weight is still trickling off me now and last 3 or 4 weeks hasn't seen much development when I measure, but if I keep eating right and exercising, it will eventually come off.
Don't give up. What is the alternative? The way I see it, is even if I never lost another pound, I am getting stronger and healthier.0 -

If it's any consolation, I circled through the same 3 pounds for around 4 weeks - having done absolutely nothing different from what I'd done before.
Since last Friday, I've dropped 3 pounds under my lowest weight during that period - plus 2" from my waist and an 1" from my hips.
Still doing nothing differently.
Stick with it. If you're really logging and eating right and you're really measuring, it will happen. You just have to have faith.0
