Do you think Sportline HRM works okay? I mean as far as Heart rate and calories burned. It has a spot for age and sex and counts your minutes exercising along with HR to calculate the calories burned but It doesn't ask for weight. I tried it out yesterday and the amount of calories it said I burned were like close to twice as much as MFP says. I am 214 pounds. I want this to be true but it seems like it is too good. It goes on my wrist and uses a finger push to get the heart rate. Bought it at walmart for $30 thought it would be good until I could afford a better one. Anyone have experience with this model?

Is it too late to take it back?
To be any where near accurate your HRM needs to have a chest strap so that it is constantly monitoring your heart rate - and - you need to be able to put in your weight. Without knowing your weight the HRM is guessing - a fairly basic Polar is a little more expensive but a much better value.0 -
Short answer, no.0

If you can, take it back. You can get a Polar on eBay for just a few bucks more - with a chest strap. I've never EVER had anything on my HRM be HIGHER than the MFP value. Usually MFP is double what my HRM shows.0

MFP does not take into consideration your heart rate. An HRM obviously does. I trust my Sportline and it measures the same as my Garmin as far as calories burned. Out of curiosity, what is your max HR when exercising? You'll burn way more calories at 200 bpm than at 170 bpm.0

I made that mistake. Take it back. It's GARBAGE! Get one with a chest strap. I love my Polar FT4.0
