My wife is currently unemployed so we struck a deal.

She does stuff around the house till noon, then the rest of the day is hers, but at the weekend if there is still stuff to do we both do it.

Since she is organized it never takes her till noon and there isn't stuff left over at the weekends so she just sits on the deck watching me cut the grass or change the oil in the car, etc.

Do any of the ladies out there use the ride on lawnmower or change the oil, I need to know how to convince my wife to?

My husband have an unspoken deal...I mow the lawn during the summer and he snowblows in the winter. Considering we only have about 3 months of mowing weather but about 6 months of snowblowing weather, I think I won on that deal.

As for house chores, he does the cooking and bathrooms. I do the dishes, laundry, clutter clean-up, dusting, vaccuming, etc.

He has admitted to me he shouldnt have to come home and clean. Which I get. He works and supports this family. So Im ok with him coming home and chillaxing...But I do need help once in a while. It would be nice if he helped me clean everday but Im only just asking a couple of days a week. He works 7am till 3:30...technically I work from the moment I get up 6 am until I go to bed 1 am.
  • It's funny reading this. We fight about cleaning too, but it's opposite. He's an extreme neat freak, and I believe a lived in house should have a "lived in" feel. Sometimes I wish he was just a slob so I could clean the house at my own pace, and not because he gets anxiety if he sees a dirty dish out of place. Lol.

Good set up Jim...That is the way i should be, that way there is never any issues with cleaning...it so easy when pp compromise]
I clean the bathrooms and the kitchen (including dishes and dishwasher)....also responsible for taking out garbage and maintaining the pool and cutting the lawn.

She does the laundry for the house (except me), cooks, dust and vac

    Works for us.

i mow the lawn but not on a riding lawnmower & let me tell you the backyard is a b*tc* (retaining wall, big hill, crap to mow around) but i dont mind doing it because it burns a good amounts of cals & then if i dont feel like working out that day, i dont...
sure it makes you sweat, turns your shoes green, and you get dirty, but i dont care, im a chick that doesnt mind..just shower afterwords

to the OP, i found its not worth argueing...im home during the day w the kids & work at night when they sleep...i clean what i have a chance to & hope it stays clean the rest of the day...most of the time, when i get home the house is trashed & no one has done anything...ohh well, thats life, start again tomorrow...i do ask for help but it gets me nowhere so i make him leave with the kids for a couple hours & get it done.... the only thing i ask him is that once every couple weeks he let me sleep in & he get up at the a** crack of dawn with the kids
