Girls and Lifting Weights

So I work out just about every day of the week and lift weights at least 5 days a week on a training split. Any of my fellow girls that lift ever feel self conscious they aren't being the typical cardio queen at the gym? Sometimes I feel like it makes me seem manly when really I just love the feeling of being strong and looking fit. Also, you guys out there, is it a huge turn off to see a girl throwing weight in the gym especially if its a pretty decent amount? I know I shouldnt care what other people think but can't help that it crosses my mind when at the gym and get looks from guys and other girls.

All the time. What is engrained in our minds by the media and Hollyweird is that we need to spend 3 hours a day on the elliptical. You are going against the norm and are aiming to get healthy and be a strong *kitten* chick! Stand tall girl, and dont be embarrased! I got a few really weird looks from dudes mostly, but once I brushed that off and started to focus on my workout it all went away :bigsmile:0
