Lost the weight, now what to implant or not to implant?

Fake boobs look AWFUL!!! Keep them natural!!! If you feel you need a lift then get a lift but do not put an ugly water balloon in your body!!
I would do a lift if I still had some fullness, but lifting deflated skin will do nothing. It's a vanity thing for me and I'm not doing it for anyone else. I'm not looking for huge, just more natural than they look right now. Have to see, plan to wait about 6 months before pursuing it.0 -
I might get some after I have kids and after I pay off all my useless debt.
I'm just iffy because it's not a one-time surgery.
Really? I've had mine 16 years .. I have not heard anything about multiple surgeries. I'm not arguing that, just never knew about that. My surgeon never mentioned anything like that to me.
Although. .. I can understand .. I'm certainly rethinking the whole boob thing anyway. To me .. it's truly no longer worth it. I felt good about it for a short time .. but I never came to terms with how the felt. And some of the comments I got from my husband (divorced now) and boyfriend. They don't feel normal to them either. I have confidence in myself as a human being. I don't need to look like a movie star with Kim Kardashian boobs. I like who I am .. and that's what matters most!
I've always heard that you have to go back every 5-10 years to get new ones. Maybe longer than that, but I thought you had to get new ones.
Also, OP, do it for the drugs. :laugh:0 -
Go for it0

Hello: I have been reading this thread..Hmm..wondering if I should talk:
OK..I have ALWAYS had large breasts. Woke up when I was 12 with a couple of D's sitting on my chest.
Let's just say that "the girls" never attracted "Niceness"..what I mean is:
EVERYONE stared at them. EVERYONE!! From my dad's dirty old men friends to women. I hated it.
So, for my 30th, I got a reduction. Wahoot.
But, gained weight..and here they are again.
Another reduction...but, this time, the PS didn't shape the breasts right. Now, have implants..no..
THEY ARE NOT NOTICEABLE.
I got saline, only 300cc's in each side.
No, they are NOT pornstarish.
The damn things SAG just like regular breasts.
I HATE THEM.
I will have them removed ASAP.
My daughter wanted large breasts..until she got them.
No Fun ladies.
Stay natural.
You body IS God's GIFT!
I made a mistake, and now I pay for it.
Is much better to get a LIFT, than implants, unless you are cosmetically irregular. And, a life could fix that also.
Best of luck to all of you!

I am not going to read another thread of people blasting implants, I'm just going to tell you my experience. I got them 14 years ago. I had a near perfect experience. I have always been and am still very happy I did. I'm a 36 C. I would do it again in a heart beat. Boyfriends past liked them. My husband likes them. They don't feel exactly like the natural boob, but I don't care.0
-
There has to be something very wrong medically, for me to willing go under the knife.0
-
you could always remove them I guess, but I worry about what they'd look like when I'm older...plus I believe they take "maintenance" ...have to get them re-done every so often.
It never would hurt to just go in and have a consultation. Ask all of the proper questions for the long term aspect.0 -
About 4 years ago I had a consult with a plastic surgeon about getting a reduction. He took measurements and said that I qualify for a reduction. I didn't go through with it becuase I knew my husband wanted to have another kid, so I thought I'd hold off until 1 more kid, then get the reduction. Now with the weight I've lost so far, My bra's fit better and I'm thinking if I loose another 40 pounds, I should go down a cup size. So weight loss will save me a surgery, plus all the other great benefits of medium to small sized boobs. They will actually have pretty bra's in my size, my lower back, shoulders and chest muscles won't hurt anymore and I will have a lot more self confidence.0

It makes me sad how much women's breasts matter. They shouldn't.0

I know many people who have gone through breast cancer and had to lose their breasts completely.
talk to them about why they matter....0 -
I want to get implants and a tummy tuck. I've always had large breasts, but they are not perky anymore. Fake boobs are soooooo pretty!!!0

I am a 34 B and never had complaints. In fact, I like not having to wear a sports bra without it being painful. Your profile is not viewable so I dont know what you dropped 2 sizes from. Are they saggy? Have you given your body time to fix the extra skin? HAve you already had kids? If you are planning on it, you might want to wait til after. You could always just consider a lift. Get implants if they make you happy but on your new smaller frame the size they were may look huge.0
-
Do what makes you happy. Your body, your choice. Any man who says they prefer real over fake or vice versa... ask them that when a set "not of their preference" is in their face.0

Having any body part removed would be traumatic. I think the original poster meant something more along the lines of women have children and breastfeed for their children. This causes boobs to change and we shouldnt be so self consious over something that is natural.0 -
Just to add my two cents, I've had implants put in and haven't looked back since! At 19 everyone said I was far too young and was being silly, but I saved up the money and spent a LOT of time researching my surgeon. When I went through with it I couldn't have felt as though I was in safer hands and I honestly wish I'd done it sooner! My confidence has gone through the roof and I'm so much happier with my body now!
The only real problem with being so young is your boobs can change/grow and look funny around the implants. I am glad you didnt have complications.0 -
Most women or even men on here see the changes in your body with the weight loss. Well sometimes it comes off in places not so favorable. I still have my thunder thighs... but my cup size has decreased by almost 2 cups. So the question is breast implants or stay natural? My reason would be to feel good in my own skin when I undress to take a shower and be proud of what I've accomplished without saying ugh... where did they go and I had such bigger ones when I was heavy. Anyhow thoughts on this and has anyone got them since losing the weight?
This would be much easier to help you decide with some before and after pics........0 -

When I enquired for my sister they mentioned that they STRONGLY recommend replacing them every 10 yrs.
Myself I'd dearly love a reduction but was told my BMI needs to be at a certain level before they would consider the surgery.0 -

agreed.
all I am saying is, yes breasts should matter!! they're part of our womanhood.0 -
Back in the day I was a very comfortable 34C. I got up to a 44D or DD and I am grateful that the weight is coming off and they are getting smaller. Definitely not perky after two kids but the correct fitted bra makes them look gorgeous. I still have about 28lbs to drop at which time I will reassess my situation. At that point I will decide if this is to be my final weight or if I will take off that last 20 lbs. I'm 5'3". I have thought about implants but prefer the idea of a lift so much more.
To the OP, do what you feel is right for you as you are the one who will see them the most and have to live with them. Your life, your choice :happy:0 -
Remember that there is the difference between having the girls lifted vs having implants. I am very tempted to get a lift. Nothing implanted, but just correcting what gravity destroyed! I will not do a thing until I reach my goal weight and maintain it for a year though. The extra year will give my skin a chance to shrink as much a possible before I make a final decision.0

I went to a well known top surgeon, and he said unless there is a complication later on (ie. rupture, capsular contracture, or assymetry) then there is no need to put yourself through another surgery just to get new implants.
ETA: Though Im sure if you have implants in for long enough, one of those complications will eventually occur, and Im sure there is an average life span for an implant, but like I said, theres no need to just go in for a replacement unless something happens.0 -

I'm not wondering why they do. My mother had breast cancer and felt mutilated after her surgery . I'm just saying that it's sad that they are so important to women, in terms of how much they seem to define us, relative to other body parts that are visible when we are clothed.
You took my post as some kind of an attack, when it was merely an expression of disappointment of how much attention and value we give to one body part.0 -

Go for a consultation? If it would make you feel better, then go for it if you ask me. I wouldn't rule the option out personally, although I'd never want them to look fake.. gross x0

Agreed. You only need to replace if there are problems or if you want larger/smaller implants. The whole 10-year span is a myth.0
