How do you measure pasta?

I was just wondering how you measure pasta? Do you measure your serving size before you cook it or do you measure your serving size after?

I was about to ask the same thing. Rice too! Do you measure before or after it's cooked?

normally on the package it says "dry" so, I measure it dry unless I am cooking in a broth... Then I add the broth separate in my food log.

Rice I measure after it's cooked.

The package of pasta I have (Barilla) doesn't say whether it's dry or not.

Fom everything I have read and heard:

Pasta: 2 oz dry or 1 cup cooked
    Rice: 1/2 cooked

pasta should be measured dry... it is approximately double the weight when it is cooked (in case you are making for more than just yourself)
    not sure about rice.
