Im 44 and always have been over weight. then add marriage and 2 kids.... yeah you get the picture.and the excuses Im 5'3" and wanting to lose another 20. I need to or I think I just now need to excerise more.but with cold winter coming on I know..... I will find that as an excuse. I have tapes and weights, but they have collected dust I have went from a size 16/18 last time I looked at the scale before putting it in the closet it said 198. Sept of last year I started Herbalife and now Im at 169-172. and size 8 jeans. . . Last time I gave myself 2 months each day doing some type of excerise I remember the day Oct 1 until Dec 1..... No ice cream. I did great until i got on the scale and it didnt move. I could feel muscle building but those scales discourged me. Dec 2 That year I ate a 1/2 gallon of ice cream myself. :( I love ice cream!!! its my weakness :( I know 20 pounds isnt much but it is to that person I see in the mirror. Helpful hints, encouragements and a few strong talking too.... are welcomed and wanted

"Feeling muscle building" is one of the best results you can have. Most people vex themselves about the scales, but should be concentrating on their body composition (eg body fat percentage). Concentrate on your results in the exercises and maybe on the actual body measurements (waist hips etc)

Ditch the scale! It's a misleading LIAR!

When I was in college I was 150 lbs. I had double biceps, a six pack, and I could do 20 pullups. I wore a size zero.

    I'm still 150 pounds. I don't have double biceps, a six pack, and I can't do a pull up. I'm between a size 6 and an 8.

Which 150 girl do you think I'd rather be?? I'm busting my but to get back to the fit one. My weight really hasn't changed but I can see lots of change in my progress photos. That's what keeps me going.

    *Edited to fix type o

I am like your Dorthy, I am 41 two grown kids with only a few pounds to loose, honestly I really on need to get my body fat % down and build some lean muscel. Everytime I get on the scale it makes me sick, because it is not moving, I too have to stay the heck away from it and just go by how I feel and how I look to myself. Sam post hit the nail on the head, the scale can say one thing and our bodies say another...
