My calves are 12" and thighs are 17.5", only 5.5" difference. When standing they look almost the same sizee. I read somewhere that there should be at least 8" difference.

My thighs are 21" (L) and 21.75" (R) and calves are 14". So, pretty close to the 8" difference...but people have different leg shapes so I am sure there is lots of variation on this.

Anyone else with a noticeable difference in thigh sizes? I had surgery on the right leg and I wonder if that is why they are so different. I can actually feel it in how my pants fit and it can be very annoying!

My right thigh has always been bigger than my left, it was quite noticeable when I was heavier, not so much now.

Thigh 23.5'' calf 14'' My calves have always been bigger because I used to rock climb a lot, they look more toned at the moment though I carry fat on my thighs.
Don't know if this is good or bad, it's just how it is!! lol!

    Widest points on each:

    calf: 15 inches
thigh : 24 inches (right at the top where it gets flabby)

thigh 21.25/calf 13.5 - now don't you dare ask for any other measurements! It's all way uphill from there.

There is a small difference in my thigh measurement < 1/4 inch. Always has been. I always measure the left side as all of my left side seems to be a little larger than my right. Go figure.

I'd be scared to figure that out, due to hereditary (according to my mom) I have calves that are way out of proportion to the rest of my body and I hate them!!!

My thighs are 28-29, and since I started jogging my calves have gotten EVEN BIGGER and are almost 18 inches now.

When I was at my lowest, my thighs got down to 22-23 and my calves were still 15-16. That was almost 70lbs lower than now. My calves are just naturally huge.

I used to volunteer/intern at a physical therapist office (what I wanted to be before I realized I sucked at physics and could never pass the class with a high enough grade to get into PT school) and this is EXTREMELY common among individuals who have had surgery. I know for some people it evened out to almost even, and for some people the surgery leg was always significantly smaller. You experience a lot of muscle atrophy during surgery recovery and your muscles tend to work together differently post surgery as well.

    As for the question:

    Thighs: 22in
    Calf: 14in

I hold the majority of my weight/muscle in my legs, I just am built to always be heavier on the lower half, everyone is different and has different areas where they hold weight. I will forever envy the skinny-legged people, but its probably because I will really never be able to have them.

I'm a 22" thigh and 14" calves. I'm also 5'11" so that has something to do with it. Longer legs so longer muscles and fat is distributed further lol at least that helps me when dong measurements lol

My thighs are just under 22" and my calves around 14". I have always had big calves - I do a lot of walking and always have, and I used to do a lot of cycling when I was at university. Even at my thinnest, I still had big calves and thighs. My calves are a nice shape though, although I would love to have skinny legs!

It's amazing to me that people think that 13-14 inch calf is large! I have received compliments my entire life on my "beautiful and thin" legs. My calves are not obviously muscular, but very tight and what I consider the most "fit" part of my body! I never gain any weight in my legs except the very top/inside of my thighs.

Just makes me realize how different we all think. :drinker:

You're a man though, you're supposed to have skinny legs! My husband is 6 foot tall and although his thigh and calf measurements are very similar to mine, his legs look so much skinnier as he's 6 inches taller, and his legs are so long.

I think of my thighs especially as massive! I was moaning about them to my PT today and he looked at me like I was mad, which is reassuring i guess.
  • It seems 8" is roughly the average

same here, my left is 1/2" bigger, I think I use it more because I have pain in my right knee

This isn't something you can necessarily control.

My thighs are 18", my calves are 15". I have really big calves, but it's muscle not fat. I can't make it go away. When I weighed 319 my calves were almost as big as my thighs. They're both much smaller but my calves are still almost as big as my thighs.

There's not "should be" that you can achieve here. Body type and proportion are partly genetic.
  • My thighs are 19.5" while my calves are 13.5" so its a 6 inch difference
