Insanity Question

Need thoughts...Insanity is making me really sore, which I don't mind normally. BUT...I have a 15K on Sunday that I'd rather not have to limp through. Do you think it's OK to skip 2 days to give my legs a break before the race?? I just did Day 4 yesterday, so I hate to stop being on schedule so early. The other piece of this is that a month ago I hurt my calf running and it took 2 weeks to be able to walk or run normally again. My calves are what is the most sore so far with all of this.

Yes I think it's just fine to skip Insanity until after your race. Since you've had a previous injury, you want to listen to your body and take it easy with a lower impact exercise (at least until after the race). But expect to get sore again from Insanity, but the soreness does go away after the first week. Good luck on the race!0

I agree, rest! I have trained for a few half marathons, one full, and other miscellaneous runs, and all training programs recommend at least 2 days of rest before race day. So make sure you do too and drink plenty of water and massage those poor sore muscles! Good luck!0

Skip a week! You have a big run coming up. Your Insanity DVDs won't catch a cab and leave because they feel abandoned. Just restart the week after you have recovered from your 15k.0

Thanks for the replies! I did take off yesterday and today, and the race is tomorrow...so I won't do that day either. But I'll jump back in Monday, and race season is officially over for me after tomorrow. : )0
