Walked a 1/2 marathon today

Hi there,

I am new here in the forums although I have been a member of MFP for a little while. Today my friend and I walked a half-marathon in 3 hours and 20 minutes. We were very pleased that we were doing one mile in 15 minutes and stayed consistently at that right through. We walk every day but normally do about 9 km during the week day and 12 km on the weekends so this was a bit of a stretch for us. I just wanted to brag a bit since we are pretty pleased with ourselves. =)

    Congrats!
  • I like hearing about everyone "walking" half marathons... I've been thinking here and there that I would maybe like to do one, but I kept thinking "everyone there is going to be Running, and I can't do that!". So it's a little bit of a push and a big encouragement to hear about other people that walk it, too! :D

And PS: CONGRATULATIONS!!! You definitely deserve to brag. I haven't walked more than 5 miles in months. You did 13 in such a short amount of time and that's amazing!!

I definitely would do another. I was quite surprised to find out that we could have gone further. We didn't want to but we could have. I expected to be exhausted at the end of that and we weren't. And this morning, I am not sore. Another surprise although I was pretty stiff for the rest of the day yesterday.
