Celebrating with Food or Alcohol??

I have to say, that generally, I do well with my diet. I see it is as my new way of life.
However, not to any extreme at all, I have days that when something goes well, especially in my relationship, we usually "celebrate" it with just having the "odd" eat and drink without thought for MY diet. I say ME, because my partner is slim and can eat and drink anything it seems.
What else can one substitute for "feeling" good about yourself, and diet and weightloss...or anything?
How do you treat yourself?

Clothes are like the gold standard for people losing weight and getting in shape because it's nice to buy in smaller sizes and look better than before in them.
I'm buying myself a celebratory passport when I finally hit goal because it has meaning for me, a way to say to myself I'm not trapped in a fat body anymore and I won't stay trapped in a country I don't want to live in, either.
And to celebrate little things, a workout DVD or a book is always nice when I can manage it.
Since you have someone to celebrate with, you could go hiking with your partner maybe, or do something else physically active and fun. Or watch a movie together, or go out on the town after you eat instead of to eat.0 -
I know how you feel but I saw this great quote and it has helped
"don't reward yourself with food, you are not a dog"
But clothes, thats the best reward for losing weight!0 -
Work it in. I eat ice cream daily, a lot of it. Typically once a week I'll even have a pint of Ben & Jerry's and several (or more :blushing: ) pints of beer. Albeit I eat a lot more than most so it's easy to fit that in my calories.0

i celebrate by staring at the scale repeatedly to make sure i'm not hallucinating LOL, also by buying something nice for myself. i'm not a dog, i dont need to be rewarded for good work with food, especially since that exact reasoning is how i got here in the first place. lol0

Do something you've always wanted to do. Get a massage or pedicure or something like that. Buy something not food like clothes, jewelry or whatever it is that excites you.0

If you're doing lots of exercise then I find it's nice to treat yourself to a massage expecially if you're getting sore. Feels good and good for your body too. Other than this, if you want something that isn't clothes, maybe spa treatments: facial, mani, pedi etc. HRM is on my list as well.0

A bath. A single glass of champagne with a strawberry in it. Nice music. An afternoon walk. Sex.0

I think I passed that one along here too yesterday. "You are not a dog. You do not get a biscuit."0 -

I'm glad I'm not a dog. They can't have chocolate.0 -
It seems I am soooo late on the "dog" analogy! hehehe.
oh deary.
Right now I am saving...since I am doing a lot of "hobby" stuff and not working really.
I used to go to a 5star hotel and chillax....but now...NOT....
But it is winter now...(or soon) and I think I SHOULD find a reward....but PORT WINE is only like €6! Cheap aint always cheap is it? lol.
Ice skating is something I want to take up for the winter....0 -
My partner and I usually go out for coffee or to a nice tea house to treat ourselves or celebrate things now (used to be restaurants and pubs!)0

I find it tough to treat myself with other things as I earn a bartender wage and live alone. Bubble baths, nights in with candles everywhere or dying my hair all work, but I can't afford to splurge on clothes or other things all the time.0
