The ugly sister

Anyone else out there ever feel like you're out of place in your family? As the oldest of 8 (5 girls 3 boys), i just feel like i dont belong. I feel like some kind of massive beast beside my smaller, prettier sisters. Bleh. Just a rant i guess.

Yes, I have felt like that too.....My sister is older then me and has always been smaller then me...I always felt like a cow next to her.0

I don't feel "ugly" but I do know what you mean. I have an older brother who played football and was a lady's man his whole life. My mom was fit and pretty and could date guys that were the same age as me and my dad is still beating the ladies off of him and is a body builder lol (my parents are divorced btw) I have struggled with my weight my whole life. You can get the weight off and I think your beautiful!0

I am the middle child of 3 kids. Older sister, and younger brother. Growing up, and in school, all I heard was how beautiful my sister is. She is 5'2" and has never weighed more than 110lbs soaking wet. I'm 5'8" and currently 160lbs. I get it.
And now, I'm married to a guy who is the same height as me, but weighs 130lbs, and his whole side of the family is small. So, no matter how much I lose, I'm always gonna be the "big" one.
I feel your pain, but you are beautiful!!!0 -
I totally understand. I have an (much) older half-sister (same mom, different dads) and she has always been small as well as pretty. Then she had a daughter who is actually closer in age to me...lol...and we're best friends...however...I am the big one & everyone talks about how beautiful she is. Soooooo I understand your pain. However, I think you are very pretty! You can lose the weight girl!0

Thanks guys I just get so nervous, because ive NEVER been a normal weight, obese since age 9. So I can't picture in my head what i'll look like, if i'll look better, or look the same and just be more healthy etc.... I have 200 LBs to lose so i'm a long ways away!0

I used to feel that way. I was always so much heavier than the rest of my family and I have a step-sister who is thin and regarded as the "pretty one." She is quite a bit older than me, but that didn't make it any easier.
Since I've started taking care of myself and exercising, I've found out what an awesome body I have and I'm impressed by all the things I can do. That's become more important to me than being the "pretty one."0 -
My sister and I look nothing alike. She is tall with red hair and cream skin, I am shorter with dark hair and skin. I have never used her as barometer for myself since you can't even tell we are sisters when we stand next to each other.0
