Hey everyone - just thought I might introduce myself and give a little bit of a background.
I'm 28 y/o and I live in NY. I work full time as a lawyer. Before I started this job 3 years ago, I had lost 25 lbs and had kept it off for 2 years. I went from 135lb to 110lbs (I'm 5'1 3/4"). In my first year, I was able to come and go as I pleased and I made up my hours by coming in on weekends or working longer hours on my off-workout days. As long as I finished my work, no one questioned my hours. In my second year, I got a promotion and it meant working super long hours, on top of a long commute. In that one year alone, I gained 30lbs. At the end of that year, I got promoted again. I still have that long commute, but my hours are shorter working a steady 9-5. Because I have always been a morning work-out kinda gal and because of my long commute, I can't seem to find the energy to work out in the evenings
Now, it's almost the end of 2012. I've been trying on and off this year to lose weight, but I just haven't been able to get back to the person I was before 2011. I feel lost. I hate buying new clothes. I hate going out with friends. I feel like I need to become the person I am/was again.
So, I've decided to join this forum! I remember that I used to count my calories and run 4 miles daily and revolve my life around reading everything fitness related. I know that if I can just find the support and focus around fitness again, I will get back into that groove - or find a new one that works with my schedule better.
Of course, at the end of this month, I will be leaving this job and embarking on a new adventure entirely - I'm moving out of NY to SC and hopefully starting a new job or going solo until I find one. I need to find a routine and eating habits that will work no matter what or where my job is.

good luck on your new journey! and like you i find it hard to fit in workouts and eating right and all that good stuff. this website has helped a lot so im hoping i can accomplish my goals. feel free to add me i love having new friends to help support and motivate and they do the same for me0

I find that it's really hard at the end of the day and I read an article once talking about how you use up all your willpower during the day at work and so you have none left for when you get home. That's so true for me - especially after my position in 2011, the last thing I wanted to do was think about going for a run or making a smart eating decision. A pie of pizza or a bowl of pasta or anything that was quick and easy was so much more appetizing.
I'm looking forward to changing that and looking forward to making new friends on here to help motivate me and keep me on track!0 -
Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to take a few seconds to introduce myself. I'm a 47 year old mother of 5 adult children. Just had new grandson on halloween so that makes 19 grandkids! I've been married for 29 years. About 4 years ago I was at 323 pounds. After cancer and now diabetes, I weigh 261. I know how important it is to lose weight for my health, but I still continue to have so much trouble sticking to any type of weight loss plan. I guess it's because I have such little support at home where it counts the most. All my family wants me to lose but nobody is willing to give the help I need. There has to be a way to get it through my thick head that "I CAN DO THIS BY MYSELF!"0
