Hi everyone! My name is Katy and I'm 26 years old. I have a weight loss goal of 136lbs. I started cutting back and exercising just over a week ago. Cutting out soda was the biggest part of starting this, and since I cut out soda I've lost 5 lbs!
I'm newly married and want to be healthy not just for myself, but for my new husband.
I'm here looking for others who are going thru the same thing as me. It's hard to get support at home (not from my husband, from everyone else). We're all over eaters and lazy so they are less than supportive.
I want to wish everyone luck with their weight loss goals, I'm here, being your cheerleader as I hope you'll be mine!

it can be hard to lose weight when everyone around you doesnt have the same "wants" keep focussed and im sure you'll be losing fine...well done on your first 5lb

You took the first big step of cutting out soda! That was my starting point too, cannot stand the stuff now!

Welcome to MFP, Katy! You have made the first step...deciding to get healthy and having a plan! I think you will find MFP very helpful. Just be sure to log your food and exercise everyday, and find some good, supportive friends. I'm old enough to be your Mom (in fact, I have a married son your age), but feel free to add me if you like. Wishing you all the best as you work towards your goal of being healthy and fit!
