Spit or Swallow?

Just wanted to offer a reason as to why this thread always gets locked:
any post in the main forums can appear on a user's home page under "most recent topics", even if they don't visit the forums.
So users at work who log in to blog food suddenly get the word "boobs" on their home screen, which is not really what we're looking for. Some employers will block sites that have this kind of content, leaving users unable to log food at work, etc. Our number one goal is to make sure our users can access the site from wherever they are. So feel free to move this topic into a group if you'd like, and just mark it mature.
Thanks for understanding,
Joshua

I usually always swallow, but I have been a spitter at times. Depends on how dry my throat is and how thick the build up seems to be. I know what you mean though, it's not something you realize until you become a runner.
Edited to add : If I have a water bottle with me, I will fill my mouth with water to swish it around and then spit it out. A lot easier to spit the distance that way. (always make sure noone is watching first) lol0 -
I totally spit that crap out...one time I ran right into it.0

When I run my mouth becomes dry, if I don't take water with me, nothing builds up, and there is nothing to spit or swallow.0

I have the same problem on my bike. Although its much worse as the speeds are higher. I can't swallow and when I spit sometimes it blows back on my self too. Casualties of war, it happens and I just ride on. You really got to make sure you have the right type of spit going on though. Like spitting out gum, you have to make sure its ready to be fired at a high rate of speed and not have a trail or get stuck to your lip and impede the trajectory. There is a science to it just like that fart that creeps up and you need to know if its a break the stride to break the wind or not type of fart.
Best of luck to you and what ever poor sap is behind you. Cause with the comedy show running in front them, they will be sure to break stride and trip themselves.0 -
swallow swallow swallow :P0

Compiling a list of females who swallow. It will be available for $9.99 at the end of the day.0

When I first got into running I was reading an article which asked a marathon winner what his #1 advice would be for people just starting out. His response, "Learn to spit".
