Calories in stir fry beef?

I tried to add stir fry beef to my dinner and there were about 5 options ranging in calories from 150-350.
3 of them were ~180 so I picked the average.
I suppose it depends on the amount of fat in ones meat.
What would you do in this scenario?

  • Did you make it yourself? If so, I always use the recipe option and input the ingredients then figure out approximately how big of a portion I ate to figure out what my meal was.

If you know what type of beef, you could just search that and figure about how many ounces you ate. Every 3 oz. serving of meat is like a deck of cards.
  • You need to know the cut of meat you used, the weight and if you used oil/butter and how much. I also check a few other sources that is key. I use this http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-beef-products-ic1300 and Google to get more than one source. It's hard for meat...good luck

Well when in doubt I do what you did - pick one in the middle. Some days you'll choose too high, some days you'll choose too low - it all evens out, IMO.
